As mentioned in one of my other reviews, we have had the absolute pleasure of staying at RACV Cape Schanck Resort on four occasions so far! The resort is run by an incredible team of hard working and friendly staff. It truly is a luxury escape with wonderful hospitality and amazing food. Always a great escape at the Cape :-) Samphire is a great restaurant. The Cape restaurant (as you would expect) is simply super next level AMAZING! Some of the fantastic managers and waiters we have met in recent times have included: Aaron, Sarah, Dante, Rob, Jacqui, Jasmyn, Jeremy and Leo. Of course, the hard-working and talented chefs and kitchen staff behind the scenes also did a fantastic job. The architecture is breathtakingly stunning and makes an immediate statement as soon as you head along the long and winding road that is the driveway. Here are some photos of our meals at Samphire in July, 2024. As usual, the food and service did not disappoint. The seafood platter was a highlight. Thanks so much to the RACV Cape Schanck team! Keep doing what you do and know that you have found huge fans with us who will stay...
Read moreLovely environment but the food was average especially when we found a piece of plastic in our meal. We ordered 3 mains; a pasta, duck and lamb rack. The pasta came first and it was disturbingly salty which we told the waiter and mentioned maybe it would be less salty on some bread. So he sent bread to our table. Upon eating the meat from the pasta on the bread - I bit into a piece of plastic that was 3cm long and 0.5cm wide and I called the same waiter over to let him know to weary of this so other customers don’t have the same thing happening to them. We left after barely eating our $46 pasta and the waiter stopped us saying “please wait as I would like to give you a discount for what happened.” The discount he gave us was $4.88 for the Pepsi we ordered…. and he even charged us for the bread. The bill total was over $150 for a very average meal. I recommend going somewhere else if you’re thinking of...
Read moreThe food menu is quite expensive. The meals range from mid $40s to $60 or more for the main. The wine list is extensive, and the cheapest wine would be around $70. The meals were good. The barramundi was a very small portion. I had the pork chop, which was cooked to perfection 👌. However, the dish came with a quarter serve of miso cabbage, which was quite raw and crunchy, and the apple was delicious. However, this was cold straight out of the fridge. This is why I have given it 4 stars. We ordered the Oceans 8 pinot noir 2022. That vintage was no longer available, and the waitress brought out the 2023. The price is $110.00 per bottle. The wine was quite young and earthy. I feel the price point is quite pricey for this vintage. We also shared a cheese platter that had an assortment of cheese, fruit, and lavosh. The staff were friendly...
