Based on reviews decided to try out the food at this restaurant. The ambience is excellent and so are the staff. The food could be better, I do understand some food is pre prepared but atleast remove the cling film off the serving bowls before they leave the kitchen.

The food lacked flavoring from an Indians perspective but this thought was also shared by the Australian party at the next table who brought it to the attention of the staff, multiple times.

We ordered 4 naans 2 butter rotis 1 Prawn tandoori in zafrani sauce 1 Chicken with bone in Andra Masala 1 Paneer Maharaja Kofta and 2 Shahi Tukda (dessert) from the Ramadaan special menu.

The roti and naam were hard ane crunchy more like papadams rather than bread.

The prawn tandoori lacked any flavor

The Paneer Maharaja kofta, is that cling film at the bottom of the bowl? No taste whatsoever.

The Chicken Andhra Masala, this was the saving grace of the entire meal. Although not like typical Andhra cuisine but still good.

The Shahi tukda, the rabdi was runny and the tukda was rubbery and took effort to dig into. Something in this felt like it had freezer burn as it left an awful after taste.

The Simply Unimpressed Indian.

PS:The wait staff brought out the main course before the starters and the dessert before we had finished our meals. The kitchen seemed like it was in a hurry. We...

Very disappointing with simply indian when our booking got cancelled without getting informed. yesterday when we booked a table of 15 people for a birthday party, we were very excited to go one dinner as we always choose simply. We were a bit late. When we got in they said oh your booking has been cancelled and another big group came so we cancelled your booking and we gave your table to them. Whose responsibility was to inform us. And when i spoke with the guy who were standing on the register was like with attitude oh you didn't arrive after 15 minutes of your booking time so we gave your table to another people. I was like what if another big group of people didn’t come, you would still be behaving nicely with us. We had to do last minute booking at the nearest restaurant, lucky us, which was i guess great decision. The food and service was amazing there. When i told the manager at simply indian that we have booked another place he replied with such a bad attitude turning his face away ( like i don't care), that ok m’am. I had never seen such thing in my lifetime. That made me feel so bad. All the family were waiting at the car park to get in. Never ever coming back to simply indian as i was their regular customer. Never ever going to recommend simply indian to anyone. Was very very...

I had a pathatic experience in Simply Indian Melton yesterday night. I went there to have dinner with my family and we all ordered dosas. Firstly, serving was so bad , the girl who was serving dosa plate on my table was looking on another table and handing over plate to me from another corner of the table where my 6 years old was sitting. She doesn't know how to keep the plate on the table. When i started eating i felt the sambhar was tasting bad. It was spoiled. I asked the waiter that sambhar is spoiled, she said "thats not possible, we cooked it in the evening". I started eating again. Again it tasted bad to me. I was so worried as I am pregnant and my kids were eating the same sambhar. I went to the counter and said the same thing again. Again they did not bother and after 5 minutes another girl brought a bowl of sambhar from the kitchen. I tasted that one and that one was fresh. She served the old spoiled sambhar to me earlier. Nobody was even sorry for this. They were not ready to accept their mistake. I wish I could give them 0 rating for their behaviour and the quality of...

Simply India used to be my go-to restaurant in Melton, but sadly, it’s not the same anymore. Whether dining in or taking away, the food consistently disappoints. I often order biryani and Indo-Chinese dishes like veg schezwan noodles. The biryani is dry, bland, and flavorless—just rice and chicken with no spices or richness. Today’s veg schezwan noodles were no better: orange-colored, under-seasoned, and lacking any sauce or flavor. Even after calling to get a replacement, the second attempt was just as bad. What’s worse is the steep price hike. Biryani has gone from $15 to $22, and noodles from $15 to $21.99. For these prices, I expect properly seasoned food, not bland, colored dishes. Despite repeated feedback, nothing has improved—it’s only gotten worse. On a Friday night, there were barely any customers, which says a lot. I can’t recommend Simply India anymore. Spend your money elsewhere.

This place is beautifully decorated I just love the design the place and sitting area I’ve been to soooooo many Indian restaurants in Melbourne I can fairly say this one is the best Among them all unfortunately I don’t live in melton I just come here whenever I visit my family. Also The customer services is amazing here very nice girls working here friendly service and very clean and hygienic. I just ordered the samosas because I wasn’t hungry and since I love samosa sooo much and I was amazed how good is it They have the best samosas I’ve ever eaten in my life I’ve 15 years I’ve been eating Indian food for 15 years never eat a samosa tasted that delicious and juicy.. thank you soooo much for taking us and u were soon to close. :)

I placed an order for takeaway and got samosas, goat biryani, lamb dosa, and chili garlic noodles. Unfortunately, all the food was terrible. The samosas were bland and tasteless except for a strong fennel flavor. The goat biryani had only 4-5 tiny pieces of meat and was mostly rice with a half-boiled egg. It was definitely not worth $21.99—I've had much better biryani at Guneet’s. The dosa was also disappointing, though I'd rather not comment further. I didn’t even try the noodles because they had an unappetizing smell. I've had good experiences at this place in the past, but something has changed, and I can't recommend it now. Maybe dining in would be better, but I wouldn't suggest takeaway.
