All I can say is wow! A restaurant with a winery at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges and with views over the Yarra Ranges and beyond.
If you don't want to drive for hours and would like the experience of the Yarra Ranges then you must give Sir Paz a go. It is a hidden treasure.
We took our elderly mum there for Mother's Day. Seated outside on a cold and overcast day, we felt like we were inside thanks to the overhead heaters. It was a wonderful experience for us sitting outside admiring the vineyard with wonderful views of the distant hills. This place would be amazing on a sunny day
Mum was immediately welcomed with a bottle of champagne and there were blankets on the chairs just in case we needed them.
The menu was well planned, well presented and most importantly cooked to perfection. With each meal timely served.
A big thank you to the host and waitresses for your wonderful hospitality and please thank the cook on the day. Which reminds me. The meals are all cooked outside too. They have wood fired ovens and you can actually see them...
Read moreNice, warm and light space, even on this cold and rainy afternoon. The staff were friendly but not as keen to discuss or walk us through the wines as some other wineries I’ve been to. Still this the atmosphere was a little different being a sit down location with full meals on offer. The wines were very much enjoyed but not enough to make purchases. The pizza was ok, but strange to mention a 20year old sourdough yeast, - the favour of the dough was hard to find. The bake was also remarkably light for a wood fired oven. The toppings were tasty, but didn’t taste remarkable in terms of their quality. Still, they were generous, and the combinations worked. The truffled mushroom pizza was unfortunately extremely oily, there was butter+/ oil dripping of the slices: buttered mushrooms + crème fraiche + truffle oil is overload in my opinion. The size and structure of the slices were very functional they supported the large tender pumpkin...
Read moreWhat a shame! We went there with the whole family and friends from overseas. We Love the place but not this time, the manager was racist, and we came earlier than our booking to enjoy the weather on that day while I was waiting to get a drink menu the waiter checked and set our table ready, he then went to check with the manager came back to us with a different attitude. We saw wine on special for a doze and asked the waitress if we could open some and the rest home. When I went to pay the bill the management put us on no special and expensive dozen of wine. She said I was pointing to it. What a joke!! I was sitting on my table the whole time and only communicated to the waitress aboutt the special. What a shame I wonder if the owner sees her ability?!? She is not suitable for her job. Such a beautiful place ruined by an unstable manager.
We will never be back if she is...
