Stop supporting this business, go to Stix in Coburg instead. The boss doesn't even pay his employees minimum wage and goes for a month without paying them and proceeds to ghost their calls or messages even when it's urgent. Don't expect much when you come here because nobody gets paid enough for it even if the items are marked up or there are surcharges.
Everything in the fridges at the front are bought from other businesses. All of the waffles are store bought and just heated in a toaster, and the cheesecakes are delivered and kept in the freezer. The ice cream at the front always has fruit flies in it. There is no hygiene or food safety precautions here whatsoever, as food is left uncovered in a fridge in the back and a huge bag of croissants are thawed and refrozen every time someone orders them.
I have watched the boss stick his unwashed hands into the pistachio container used to serve customers and eat over it, and he watches his workers like a hawk even with cameras despite the fact that he can't make the desserts or coffee decently (or even wash his hands). The workers aren't even allowed to sit down when it's empty.
He hires girls under 18 so he can get away with paying them even less and that's also why they can't run the business properly. Because they are children and I also saw him swear at a young girl in front of everyone for something that was his own fault.
Please do not support this business. If you are that desperate for the same kind of desserts, go to the Coburg location instead because it is a franchise and it is the same store but only this location is owned...
Read moreThe staff handed me a loaded waffle cup (barely any waffle, by the way) smeared in ice cream that was already dripping down the sides, and genuinely acted like I could just take this mess home. I asked if they could fix it since it was literally melting everywhere. They popped it in a cup tray. I walked one metre out the door and it was still a disaster, so I went back in and said, âMaybe you could put it in one of those cardboard boxes?â
The young girl at the front laughs and goes, âHA, put it in a BOX?â Like Iâd just asked her to reinvent the menu. So unnecessarily rude. Thankfully, another girl in the kitchen took charge and put the cup in a bag for me.
The first girl clearly didnât even know how her own store works. If you sell waffles and crepes in those boxes, why is it such a joke to use one for a take-away waffle cup?
Got home and whilst servings were incredibly generous, it was sickly sweet and just⊠not good. Iâve had way better waffles elsewhere. The Dubai filling was weirdly hard. And wasnât even blended...
Read moreOk well im as big a sweet tooth as there is..... BUT my White Choc & Raspeberry Crepe's were so extra crazy super sweet that it hurt my teeth, the pain was so bad i literally had to go rinse my mouth out as i could feel the choc & raspeberry stuck all over my teeth. Each and every fold of the Crepe had a layer of White Choc & Raspberry syrup. Perosnally i think it is overkill. I just dont think that the crepe has to be so overloaded ? You could hardly taste crepe the toppings were that thick. The presentation was awesome it looked fantastic, the service was lovely cannot fault. I think just ease back on the toppings maybe put the White Choc and Raspberry on top of the Crepe and give a little side bowl with white choc and raspeberry for those that want extra ? Packed on all at once really for me took the enjoyment out of enjoying my crepe. I tried scraping the crepe to take the toppings off but the toppings were already absorbed...
