I had my wedding reception there 20 years ago and that was the first they'd ever had in the cafe, and it was fabulous! I was amazed to see nothing had changed, yet it was still in excellent order. I have always said that Sweetwater cafe with its large windows and white walls has a Mediterranean feel to it and I just love it! It is a breath of fresh air at the far end of the beautiful historic building in which it lives! We had afternoon scones there and they were very tasty! Do yourself a favour and check it out if you have never been!

Slow service. Expect to wait an hour between sitting and eating. Food was disappointing. The eggs were sour and one toast was burned underneath while the other was barely toasted. You’ll also pay a lot for it. To top it all off, there was a spider in my napkin.

The cafe at Chateau Yering is good. Nice space for breakfast. The menu is a bit limited but the food was good. The coffee was hot and miss, but the good coffee was very good and they even know what a "magic" is!

Not good. Walking into the entrance of this place, you get the idea it may be expensive. But that's Ok. We were down for that because USUALLY, this means it will be nice and is normally worth a treat. How wrong we were. Firstly, my partner, our 2 kids, friends and myself were seated at our tables and given the menus. After a short while, the waitress approached us to ask if we would like to order. We hadn't even been shown the drinks menu yet. So I asked for the drinks menu. Now this plsce is a winery in the yarra valley, so i understand the menu will contain wine and similar products - champagne etc.. However, we were not actually looking for alcoholic drinks today. Just juiices and soft drinks. We could not locate these on the 20 page menu. They were there hoewver, 1 line in the middle of the menu. We discovered this only after she showed us. ANyhow, when she returned again, I had to pint out that we needed a kids menu., SHe had to ogo and get it. Now anyone with half a brrain knows that when a 1.5 year old and 6 year old come to a restaurant, if there is a kids menu, YOU PROVIDE IT. Not this silly waitress. After waiting 50 minutes and our child cracking a tantrum, we got our meals. Small and overpriced. Thge said was $18 for lettuce and beetroot. No dressing or ANYTHING ELSE. As our youngest by now was cracking a tntrum, we had to leave. Don't go hear expecting anything special - but do expect a wait, bad service overpriced meals - albeit my meal was nice...

Extremely rude and incompetent front of house manager. The lunch menu was prepared by a Japanese chef who is no longer with them and the meal I was served was sour and inedible. I would suggest that the new chef create a new menu based on their own recipes and possibly add some vegetarian option (there are none on the lunch menu). The waitress offered to replace my dish, which was once again disappointing. When we went to pay the bill, they tried to charge me for both meals. The manager argued with us and when I told her what I thought of her rude manner and lack of care, she told me quite bluntly that she didn’t care what I thought. I would suggest that the owners take a good look at what is going on in their beautiful property, as it is a shame it is being run down in this way. I will not be returning under the...

All credit to the kind chef and understanding waitress during our visit today 09/01/2022 who agreed with our discontentment offering us complementary coffee, cake and scones but management need to look very closely at how it is possible to pay $29 for a plate of pasta, served on a breakfast plate with less than a small child's portion of a meal. So disappointing. Admittedly we should have knocked back the meal as it was embarrassingly delivered to the table but there is that fine line we all experience......do I say something now?! This can't be serious?! It was like a scene from Oliver. Can we have some...
