UTTERLY DISAPPOINTING. Dinned here for lunch today and we were utterly disappointed. From the moment we walked in the host was rude, after asking to see our vaccination certs we presented them to him and he stood and stared blankly without remark which was really quite a strange way to start our lunch. We actually felt like we were an inconvenience. He then silently proceeded to show us to our table. Our lovely waitress was attentive and friendly from the start and this review is not a reflection on her but rather management and the quality of food.
Lamb entree and octopus entree were lovely and presented well. However 2 guest at our table ordered the trout ravioli and it was exceptionally bland, particularly the cold components. Mains we had 2 pork “racks” which were really one cutlet on the bone sliced up. One was polished off and enjoyed, the other was almost impossible to cut through the gristle and was barely touched. Overall looked like a glorified pub meal. The Barramundi itself was perfectly cooked and delicious but the accompaniments were a let down. My partner had the duck which was nice enough but the presentation belonged back in the 80s with long peels of raw carrot over the plate adding absolutely nothing to the dish. Sides …. Well fries are fries and they came out hot at least, but under seasoned, as for the spinach salad the presentation was horrible and it looked like it belonged at a 80s Christmas lunch. Thick bits of cubed ham, browning avocado and a smear of feta… really disappointing. A different waitress cleared our table this time and asked how everything was. Although the meals were mediocre I politely explained the meals were OK .. except for my pork! I showed her the difficulty I had with even cutting it. The waitress then sighed at me, grabbed the plates and walked away never to return? If you don’t want feed back why ask? Following this we waited patiently but the waitress did not return nor did a bill arrive at the table. We eventually proceeded to the front of the restaurant to pay….the male host arrived at the computer printed the bill in silence and slid it in front of my partner! What is this guys problem! The bill was payed without further discussion or interest in our experience, hence this review. Honestly the place was laughable. Yerring Station have not kept up with times. I have considerable experience in hospitality and do not usually leave negative reviews. Save your money for legit restaurants and give this...

Venturing into the heart of the Yarra Valley, we embarked on a quest for gastronomic nirvana. After enduring lackluster experiences elsewhere, we discovered an oasis at Yering Estate that surpassed all expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a host who didn't just give a damn—he cared deeply about every aspect of our experience.
The service was impeccable, the food was downright extraordinary, and the staff's expertise in wine pairing was nothing short of exceptional.
With just one glass each of Shiraz and Chardonnay, expertly recommended by our waiter, the flavors danced harmoniously with our meal, elevating the dining experience to celestial heights. And let's talk about that steak—cooked to a rare perfection that's as elusive as it is divine. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender, a true testament to culinary prowess. The scallops were absolute perfection, and the deep-fried crumbed burrata with the polenta and chili “caviar”? It was a revelation. Kudos to the chefs for taking vegetarian cuisine to new heights.
The vegetarian options were impressive. The snow peas, delicately opened and bursting with freshness, added a vibrant touch to the plate. The quince accompanied the arancini, beautifully presented as seen in the photos, showcased the chef's creativity and commitment to making vegetarian dishes that are not just an afterthought but a highlight of the meal.
But what truly sets Yering Estate apart is its dedicated team. They are culinary maestros—passionate, knowledgeable, and striving for perfection. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just someone who appreciates damn good food, Yering Estate delivers excellence in every dish.
After our unforgettable meal, we were treated to an educational and enjoyable wine-tasting experience at the cellar door. Far from a mere sales pitch, it was a masterclass in terroir and winemaking traditions that left us in awe.
Bravo, Yering Estate. You've not only earned yourself a loyal fan, but you've also set the bar for culinary excellence in the Yarra...
