The food and service were below average. Except for the lady 'manager' who smiled from the moment we walked in to the end, other staff members had no smiles or facial expressions at all. We expected the fish head noodles to be at least average for a restaurant of this size and price. Unfortunately, as soon as the waiter arrived with the bowl of fish head noodles, the fishy smell had already spread to the table. I had to smell the fish three times to ensure that it wasn't off. It turned out that they didn't clean the gills and other non-belonging parts properly. You can see from the last photo (no, they are not fish skin). The soup base wasn't authentic either. Overall, the fish head noodle was below average. Their Szechuan Chilli Sauce Chicken 辣子雞 was even worse. They should have renamed the dish to Deep Fried Chilli Chicken Winglets 油炸辣椒雞翼 to be more accurate. Although the dish had most of the correct ingredients for the 辣子雞, the winglets were too big, they weren't suitable for this dish, and the taste and aroma didn't permeate the chicken wings, making the chicken less tasty than it should have been. The price they charged ($28.80) for this dish compared to the few dollars' worth of low-cost ingredients used just didn't add up. Very disappointed with the whole...

Absolute rubbish! Our Saturday dinner turned into a total disaster! Quality of dishes: we were told that we had to wait for 35min if we want to have the roasted duck and that was only 6pm, I mean..what kind of Cantonese restaurant it is that only have a couple of roasted ducks for their dinner service?! Then we have to fallback to pick crispy pork and sausage, but even the crispy pork was slightly undercooked and tasted fatty. The portion they give for the mixed platter is way under compared to if ordering by weight of the same value. We also ordered another dish; the fish fragrant eggplant pot, I don’t think the cook knows how to do the fish fragrant flavour properly and it tasted so bland! And again, over priced! A botched-up dish that contains only eggplants worths $30! Lastly, the went on noodle soup was also tasteless.

Service: the waiter had us sat and left without bringing us the cutlery, water and cup! Note that these were to not self serve. The Chinese bbq platter was brought in without the sauces, I had to remind the waitress.

Last but not least, they shamelessly put the 10% weekend surcharge to the bill! Btw, you know who put my bill thru at the register? - the...

This place is just outside forest hill chase. Group friendly and kids friendly

Very busy chinese joint.. busy means great food..

Now I wanted to have schezwan chicken n spicy noodles but hubby wasnt in the mood :(

So we had Sping onion pancake Chicken fried rice House special prawn with butter

Now guys I have had a lot of spring onion pancakes coz hubby loves onion.. lol.. but this one was light n crispy outside and wait for it... juicy inside.. not soggy... nice n soft.. OMG absolutely love it

Chicken fried rice generally comes with pineapple and we asked for no pineapple.. Tasty house was very accommodating and made our fried rice without it.

It was very flavorful even without pineapple.. yummy.. not gluggy.. nice n authentic n flavorful.. must try.. for kids.

And the prawns... OMG they had tempura like crispy coating.. n massive prawns inside.. they also had an oat n curry leaves topping.. best crispy juicy prawns EVER.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND ALL THE THREE DISHES.

Will definitely visit again and review their spicy dishes...

A great Cantonese restaurant. We went on the day of the Moon Festival and the place was packed. We quickly noticed that one of the waiters was exceptionally, cheerful, welcoming and energetic. It turns out he is the son of the owner. Regardless of this little fact, customer service was good in general even on a busy evening such as this. As this was my first time visiting I made sure I try some classics. The sweet and sour pork certainly passed the test - it was definitely fried with the right batter and the sweet and sour tastes were well balanced, something that somehow few restaurants manage to achieve. The deep fried butter prawns were also great. Even though we could tell they had used frozen prawns, they carried enough flavours. The salted fish and eggplant in hot pot was also delicious. One thing that stood out to us and is worth a mention is that the cutlery and bowls and plates were clean, which made the meal so much more enjoyable.

A Taste of Guangzhou in Forest Hill, Tasty House lives up to its name. This spot delivers seriously good comfort food with bold, nostalgic flavors that speak to tradition done right. Roast duck lovers will appreciate the crisp, golden skin and rich, succulent meat. The roast pork hits that magical trifecta: crunchy skin, tender meat, and just the right amount of fat. But the surprise star is salted free range chicken. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and quietly addictive, something that brings me back to Guangzhou. The ox tongue stir-fry—tender slices with a deep, savory flavor that lingers in the best way. Even the vegetable soup, often a supporting act, held its own with a light but satisfying broth that felt like a warm hug. Tasty House isn’t flashy—it’s the kind of place that wins you over dish by dish. If you’re into honest, flavor-packed Cantonese fare, this place is worth the visit.
