The Blue Wave Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

When you pay $11 for a large chips, don’t send a minimum serve! VERY disappointed with the order we received, especially when spending this much! You tried to hide the small portion by putting it in a small cardboard box, but we order from you often and know the large serve should be at least 4x what was delivered. Onion rings were mostly batter with little onion, and the fried dim sims were pale and undercooked-looking. Thankfully, the fish and burger were at least edible. There are plenty of other fish and chip shops in the area, maybe it’s time we go back...

Gave this place a chance on the back of reading mixed reviews but unfortunately wasn't a good experience. Was told the phone order would take 20mins so arrived 25mins later then had to wait another 15mins. Got home to eat and my grilled flake looked as though it had no batter and was thrown straight on the grill, the fish tasted like cardboard and the potato cakes and chips were dripping with oil. I ended up binning the lot $27 bucks out of pocket. I hope whoever reads this doesn't make the mistake I did and the business owners take the initiative to do...

Just ordered grilled fish that was hard and soggy, which obviously means it was cooked frozen and not fresh.

Chicken Schnitzel bought from Coles for $2 and then cooked and priced here for $6. It was extremely disappointing.

Wedges were also low quality. Most likely cheap from Coles, too.

Pricing seems fairer than other local businesses, but when you order from here, you will quickly learn why...

I don't understand how the most recent reviews can be so positive when my honest experience with The Blue Wave time after time has been more disappointing...
