Very pleasant place to visit. The food choice was great and the quality of food was very nice. The temperature in the restaurant was a little cool for me though - we all kept out jackets on. I am sure it would be nice in summer. The choice of wine could be extended. Car park was full and an unsealed overflow carpark was available which would suit most cars but my car spoiler was scraped due to the large kerb and unmade car park had suffered through erosion. Stay on the bitumen.

After watching a show on Landline, we visited Montagues today for lunch. Food at Stella's was amazing, service was exceptional and the atmosphere was very Apple appealing lol. Jazz Apple Tart and chicken scallopini recommended. We visited the shop. Did some Apple tasting. It's a pity the Cosmic Crisps and Kissabel Summer were not in store. They are what I really wanted. Did buy some Eve and Kissabel Berry apples. Will be back from time to time to get more specialised apples. 😊

Hubby & I were finally able to celebrate my birthday today after 4 weeks of me having the Kindergarten Plague from our grandkiddies. HUGE thanks to the incredible staff at Stella’s Kitchen & The Orchard at Montague. We will keep coming back for the amazing food, fabulous staff, beautiful views, & Monty the Magpie Lark, who keeps trying to join in the fun from outside the enormous window. 5 out of 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This place is of its own kind to this area, the only closest is maybe a local cafe for value. The prices are representative of the quality of produce, and flavours are quite nice.

Ricotta gnocchi is well presented with the ricotta embedded, while looking small is actually the size to suffice.

The brisket burger is another issue though. It is a wet saucy styled burger ( perhaps due to previous reviews on dryness) but is served on a board. This needs to be plate served, a board is not appropriate either for the dosh or the aesthetic this place wishes to display. The server was unable to juggle the burger with its tiny fry basket of chips to the point they toppled and spread all over a quarter of the table. This is not a critique of the staff, they were perfect, just replace the board with a plate. For a dry dish like a pizza or entree bread it is fine, just not this.

Coffee is slightly to the weaker side but still within acceptable limits.

Overall I would return as I tend to visit Lysterfield fairly often for the lake, though I encourage to make the changes listed. Will update with takeaway experience.

Have been when first opened and 3 other times for certain occasions about 2 years ago. Went today and unfortunately it will be the last time , food was good but overpriced for what it was . Walked in sign said 15% extra surcharge today then one on another counter said 10% . Asked the young man which was correct to be told 10% as it was a Saturday. Well two scones went from $17 to $18.70 instantly . Gnocci three cheeses was like $39 (+surcharge)not a large serve by any means, entree calamari $21 + Food was good but nothing super special . But the place has lost us on the scones and the 10% surcharge. Public holidays yes I get it . I’m from a family whose father had a chain of butcher shops and if we charged a surcharge like that on a Saturday and Sunday we would have a lot fewer customers. The prices you charge should well and truly cover it. Disappointed and won’t be back . Scones originally $6 so it’s an increase of nearly 300% since opening. What’s a scone...

Terrible Restaurant - The food was so dry and flavourless, the only reason we eat most of it was because we were starving after waiting an hour for it. The service was awful, we had to call someone to take our order after waiting 20 mins for a staff member to come to the table. No one checked on us the whole time we were there. Most of the staff didn't wear their facemasks correctly and put them under their chins, when we mentioned it we were just thanked for our feedback!! No it's not feedback, it's a state requirement that hospitality staff wear them and not just as chin warmers. The price of the food high and the quality extremely low. Avoid this restaurant...
