TJ Coffee House Parkdale — Restaurant in Melbourne

We (Shaolin Kung Fu Academy) a Saturday 1pm regulars now with 4 to 8 going each Saturday for their special Iced Coffee, great snack menu and the varying specials.

The owners are friendly and accommodating with great staff. prices are very appropriate, not as expensive as the Parkdale Caffee but a bit more than the other food places. But the food is good with varying special every Saturday supplementing their regular menu.

On hot days i like their Duck Salad!

Not a large place but as we go their with our puppies, we like to sit outside. If you are in the area say hi to Jen (head honcho/owner) and if you are into Iced Coffee's try the Kung Fu Iced Coffee Special (Coffee with icecram and a shot of flavoring usually caramel and not ice to dilute the flavour).

If you are there on Saturday at 1pm; say hi to the Mob with puppies sitting outside! We look mean but we are friendly!!

Food in the window looked appetising and fairly busy on a Sunday arvo. Sat down as no one offered direction or seating and waited to be served. Ordered a burger and lamb soulaki, could tell waitress didn't really listen to order as we were asked if we wanted drinks twice! Anyway 35mins later food eventually arrived, souvlaki was a bowl of soup! Anyway apologies offered and right food ordered, again. Anyway took a bite of my burger and it was cold inside, chips were hot. Took another bite and confirmed the middle was indeed cold and mushy, damn quite hungry by now :( Took it back and waitress said nothing to me but relayed issue to chef, felt awkward really so returned to my seat outside. Eventually when she came over I was asked if I wanted it reheated?! Answer I was looking for was 'sorry for that, we have a new one being cooked now and will be ready with the correct...

Very unimpressed with the wait times I understand that lockdown just eased but waiting an hour for breakfast meals to be given to us cold is not very acceptable. other customers were also complaining about the wait times to the waitress as they had also been waiting for an hour.

The first set of coffees we ordered were great we enjoyed them, although the second set was bitter and almost sour compared to the first and I didn't finish it because of that.

There is little to no reception at the back of the cafe although this is uncontrollable for the cafe it is...
