Disapointing food, nothing fresh or local, with limited and lacking drinks list. There is also a complete lack of vegetarian options, unless you are happy to eat corn chips or a side salad for dinner. There are better places to get a feed close by. Portion sizes are good though.
The starter of wings were cooked nicely and had alright flavour, however, they were super greasy which was not helped by the lack of napkins in the venue. The staff really need to serve them with half a dozen napkins or provide extra napkins at the cutlery station; we ended up having to grab hand towel from the bathroom.
The serving size of the wings were enough for an entre for at least four people on the plus.
The baramundi is frozen fish, which is absolutely rediculous considering the plethora of fresh, local seafood in the area.
The beef brisket was dry and flavourless, served with dry packaged coleslaw that had no dressing.
The chicken schnitzel was also extremely dry - a packaged thick, overcooked piece of chicken lacking any seasoning, coated in thick, dry batter.
Both meals were so dry we needed to ask for sauce to get through them. Luckily we asked for two types because the (assuming it is meant to be smokey) bbq sauce was abolutely foul.
One dish came with steamed veggies which were a mix of nicely-cooked and over-cooked, and quite water-logged.
The cheesecake sounded really nice and supposedly was very popular, however, the texture and synthetic taste made it obvious this was yet another prepackaged item, probably from the local supermarket's freezer isle.
The cheesecake was also covered in bottled caramel sauce, something that should be fresh with how easy it is to make. That said, some parties did not mind the cheesecake.
For a brewery the amount of beers on tap was underwhelming, with the majority being from other companies. The wine list is limited and the cocktail list was generic and all made from cheap, nasty bottom-shelf liquors.
The positives? Staff were friendly and accommodating. The live music was epic. The building is also amazing and wonderfully restored, and the kids area a great idea.
Would we return? We would return for the live music. When it comes to food, we will never order...
Read moreWith family visiting with young children, we went for lunch over the Christmas holiday period. Thankfully, being a hot day, there were seating options available, outdoor undercover or indoor looking out. We all had burgers of different kinds, the two children had kids burgers which came with chips and corn. The adult burgers consisting of the burger (pattie same size as the kids version) and chips on the side, without exception, were pretty ordinary. The children's burgers had corn but not the adult versions! Nothing exceptional about the meat pattie or the inclusions, and frankly, you get more taste and variety in a MacDonald's burger, and at least half the rather OTT price asked at this venue. Drinks were good, and staff pleasant and helpful, although nothing out of the norm was asked of them. While the venue is attractive, the quality of the burger meals need considerable...
Read moreWere here yesterday with family for Mother's Day. Went to order drinks and there was very little in choice for non-alcoholic drinks. The staff member who served me was arrogant and rude and thought it was funny that I was upset about the lack of choice of alternatives. My daughter in law spoke with the Manager about the situation and the Manager apologised and was very nice about it. The Chicken Schnitzel meals were disappointing. Cold gravy, sour salad, no dressing and small schnitzels. We had eaten here a month before with a group of friends and many of the meals were equally ordinary. At the end of the meal, the rude staff member was clearing surrounding tables, but would not come and do ours. If it wasn't for the kindness and understanding of the lovely Manager yesterday, full credit to her, I would be leaving a 1 star rating! We are locals who won't be...
