Don’t buy gift vouchers here.
Did you know there are laws about gift voucher expiry dates and gift voucher use? From March 2018 NSW Fair Trading enforced a law that requires gift voucher recipients to have three year expiry date validity on all full-priced gift certificates, gift cards and gift vouchers.
This law was not honoured tonight at this motel by Michael even though someone paid this establishment money and we have tried several times to use this voucher over the past 12 months reflective of their online advertised opening times and delivery that was poorly updated.
Disappointed. Don’t buy vouchers here.
Frankie's Restaurant & Bar Lithgow (owner) replied Hi Erika, We are sorry to disappoint, but unfortunately, we have an expiry date on our vouchers for a reason. In your case, it was nine months expired, we hope to see you back soon. Kind Regards, Frankie's.
Thank you for your reply Michael of Frankie’s but it is NSW and Australian law, that establishments provide a minimum of 3 years after issue for a voucher as stated above. After 19months that means under NSW and Australian law there are still another 17months that the...
Read morePre booked table for a birthday, the restaurant was busy, (no parking for disabled or elderly or a private parking lot for customers). Had to park in the opposite street in front of peoples houses. Service was slow but ok, until they had forgotten one of our orders, we were polite and asked for the food waiting for a period of time, then for the food to go instead of embarrassing the person to eat alone at a full table already finished. They were apologetic but one waitress which was the one who ordered our food was rude and stormed off into the kitchen been overheard saying “she doesn’t want it now” then she stormed out back to our table and threw a takeaway container on the table in front of our embarrassed friend (who was handling the situation very well) while walking away saying “here ya are” extremely rudely upsetting many at our table. We were then avoided by management to fix the situation, we still paid in full for our meals and drinks, we didn’t get charged for the missing plate but an apology would of gone far. A simple mistake handled poorly, we left with a...
Read moreWould give negative if I can. Terribly rude service. The waitress with glasses refused to let us, a group of 7 to entre, saying that there is no table for this many people. Even after we say we are happy to split seats, the waitress just kept repeating saying the table is not big enough when there are plenty of empty tables. In the end the waitress starts questioning if we have masks. Which is hilarious as we only just took our masks off once we entered the restaurant.
Response to the owner: Thank you for your reply. In this case I suggest communication skills training to be provided to that staff. Instead of saying that the table is not big enough for 7 people, she could have simply said the place is fully book so we are not left confused. And she could have just asked us to keep our masks on instead of asking us if we have masks with us, which we have just taken off in front of her. It has nothing to do with us disagreeing with the NSW law as our group work front line under NSW HEALTH and look after covid positive patients so yes we do agree and follow...
