Me and my family decided to come here and have some lunch on Saturday the 9th of March 2024. The customer service given to us was absolutely disgusting. It was repulsive. There was 6 of us. All ordered at table 21. We may have ordered at seperate times but not too far apart. Mostly all the same food. All the food came out separately and a large time distance apart. I got a burger which wasn’t the best and the chips are disgusting. I have had better burgers at hungry jacks. 4 of us had already finished eating our food while the other two were still waiting on corn fritters, fish tacos and a bowl of chips. They had spent over $80 on food. They did receive a notification that the food would take around 35 minutes to be ready but waiting for an hour, as well as everyone had finished their food when we all were wanting to eat together. My cousins partner decided to go up and see what was going on with their food. When they came back they stated they were just plating their food up now and bringing it out. 20 minutes later. They still had not received it. They decided to cancel the order and get a refund on the food so my cousins partner went back up to see if they could do that. As he was speaking to someone a younger light blonde waitress came up and handed my cousin her food. My cousin sat there and nicely just explained to her that her husband was talking to someone in regards to it. I then explained to her what was going on calmly and that we would like to speak to a supervisor and that there is surely something that should be done in regards to it. The younger waitress turned to me and with attitude said “Look dont yell at me” and I responded back I wasn’t yelling even my cousin told her I wasn’t yelling I explained to her that what is happened isn’t right no one checked up on them, no one advised them of anything and something should be done. Then her response to me was “I don’t know what is going on. I don’t know what’s happening but I would appreciate it if you didn’t yell at me. I will get my supervisor” and I said well I’m trying to explain it to you but yes go get your supervisor. Once the supervisor came over, she was extremely rude she didn’t apologise for anything she had immense attitude the first thing she said to us was “Do you want your food to eat here, or do you want it to go home?” Then she proceeded to say “We did tell you it was a 35 minute wait, now hurry up and tell me do you want it to eat here or to go” and we sat there gobsmacked at her attitude. Being flustered they decided to eat their food there. So my cousins partner sat down. Still waited 10 minutes for it to come out. Once it was we decided to take it home. The supervisor came out with 3 brown cardboard containers and threw it at the table and walked away. I will be sending an email advising of the bad service today as something should be done. Especially with the waitress and the supervisor. There was other lovely waiters and waitresses there but the supervisor needs an attitude check, and the young waitress needs to be trained more in customer service. I work in customer service, and if I presented myself to a complaining customer like the supervisor and waitress did. I would of been fired. Do better. And with the email I send. Hopefully there can be a resolution about this because both my cousin and her partner will be leaving a review in regards to the service as well as my cousins partner who has quite a following on Tik Tok will also be leaving a bad review as well. I will also be advising any friends and family members not to...
Read moreMy partner and I sometimes like to come over to the marina to have a short walk around the pier and have a morning coffee. We always liked that Georgia Rose was fairly dog friendly and they’re conveniently near the pier to sit down and relax after our walk.
However, there have been a couple of annoyances that have presented over time, that while the staff are fairly courteous, have soured our experience over multiple visits.
My wife and I are vegan. We don’t expect to have our whims catered to in every regard and respect the establishment’s right to serve animal products. However, there are very few vegan options. Which wouldn’t be that much of an issue - you can usually simply ask them to leave things like dairy products off. But the qr-code ordering doesn’t let you specify no dairy products. The one time we ordered breakfast, we had to go physically up to the bar to order. Which is a shame because we like the convenience of online ordering.
So, ok - we’ll just use it as a coffee spot, I guess?
Well, looks like there’s also been a change in dog friendliness of the cafe, as when we sat in the semi-outdoor/indoor area, we were told to move to seats out in the sun. Ok, not ideal. It’s within their rights, but why the change? They used to be so much more dog friendly.
Lastly, the final straw. And this is going to sound really nitpicky. We order our coffees with soy milk. What do they serve with coffee? Chocolate. There’s nowhere in the online ordering to decline this chocolate. I understand that not all people who drink soy milk are avoiding dairy products, but come on! Really?!
So, is it a nice looking place? Yes. Is it a good place to sit and have a coffee? The coffee is ok and nothing to write home about, but pleasant enough. But over multiple visits, we just keep getting these little signals of being unwelcome? If you’re not vegan, you’ll probably find this place ok. If you have a dog, assuming you don’t sit in the wrong place, you’ll probably be ok with it. But if you’re a vegan, it’s not a very considerate place. A significant lack of vegan options and the lack of an option to remove dairy from the vegetarian options without having to give up the convenient online ordering means this place just doesn’t make me feel good. Never mind the tone-deaf serving of chocolate with...
Read moreAlthough the restaurant itself is located in a stunning setting and boasts beautiful aesthetics, my overall experience was marred by a lack of attentive service. My husband and I were hoping for a memorable date night and chose this establishment based on its location and positive reviews. While the physical aspects did not disappoint, the impersonal QR code ordering system and self-seating policy left much to be desired. As I am currently using a wheelchair due to a recent accident, we encountered some challenges navigating the layout of the restaurant. While there were several tables marked as reserved, the place wasn't excessively busy. After searching for staff for some time, my husband had to seek out assistance himself and was met with curt and unhelpful responses. Eventually, we were able to secure a table on the outskirts after making some adjustments to accommodate my wheelchair. Next, we faced the obstacle of finding menus. While I understand the convenience of QR codes and online ordering, I personally believe it takes away from the personal touch of dining out. As someone with allergies, I often rely on discussing my dietary requirements with the staff, which was not possible in this scenario. This left me feeling somewhat disappointed and disconnected from the experience. Lastly, I must address my disappointment with the cocktail I ordered, which was priced at $20. The watermelon suga arrived in a glass containing a mere 30-50ml max of liquid, accompanied by a separate glass of fairy floss. The bartender simply placed it on the table and walked away without any explanation, prompting me to seek clarification myself. Although it may have been obvious to some, it would have been appreciated if he had taken a moment to explain the drink and its components and even better poured the drink over the fairy floss himself for a wow factor. Overall, while the potential for an amazing experience was apparent, the lack of quality service diminished the overall enjoyment of our visit. With a more attentive and personable approach, this restaurant could truly excel and provide a top-notch dining experience." I hope this helps! Let me know if you need any...
