Being a local and having been three times now I feel this resteraunt lacks customer service and consistency. Great view, lovely drinks menue, they will even make special requests. I've ordered chicken burritos, the first batch small and make yourself, the second better and a huge lovely serving. The first lot of zuchinni flowers were Devine! The second lot.. I've never seen such a small zucchini slice... like a chop stick covered in so much batter the point of a 'healthy' option was completely lost. My first dining experience was lovely with a young girl waiting on my friend and I in a very busy resteraunt we left a hefty tip. I went back with my husband to a totally different experience. We waited to be seated as per our 5 30pm dinner booking but no staff came. So we sat ourselves down being the resteraunt was empty. Suddenly out of nowhere a girl comes charging over and the first thing she says is 'Do you have a booking?'. Well, yes we did. We sat for a while, enjoying the view and pourd ourselves a water that was delivered to the table... about 10 mins in (with no one else in the resteraunt yet mind you) I took myself the the bar. The same girl who we saw earlier was there on the same side of the bar as me... she tuened and asked, 'can I help you?' With a stupid awkward silence, I said 'oh I'm just waiting to order some drinks'. She says, 'I can do that', spins a screen to her and enters my order. As there has been no table service so far I go to hand her my card but she says, 'I'll just add it to your table'. A different girl comes to serve our drinks. I wait to see if she will ask if we are ready to order now but she does not. I ask, just before she walks off, 'sorry, is it table service?', she says, 'OH', like she is surprised 'you want to order some food'... the order came out quickly, the quality as per above... We finished and left. The first time I was there with my friend, we stayed for another drink and desert... This time with my husband we could not wait to get out of there. If it wasn't for the adorable resident magpie, I would give 1x star.

Julio's Bar is an oasis of relaxation and sophistication, a hidden gem tucked away poolside at Bannisters Port Stephens. The ambiance is simply stunning, with its chic and modern decor, accented by the lush greenery and sparkling blue waters of the pool. From the moment one enters, each element is thoughtfully curated to create an atmosphere of luxury and indulgence. The bar offers a wide range of premium cocktails, expertly crafted and infused with exotic flavors but “apparently not enough alcohol”. The refreshing beverages perfectly complement the poolside setting, creating an atmosphere of tropical paradise. The service is impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who make each guest feel like royalty. Whether one is enjoying a drink poolside or lounging on a cozy couch in the bar, the experience is simply unparalleled. Overall, Julio's Bar is a true gem of a destination, perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and indulge in a moment of pure relaxation and luxury. With its chic ambiance, delicious food and cocktails, and exceptional service, it is an experience not to be missed.

Food was quite good it is on the pricey side $85 for 3 sides (bread, chips, corn ribs) and a main (peri-peri chicken) You get 4 slices of bread a bowl of chips and 5 corn ribs Peri-peri chicken was on a bed on corn and salsa and there 2 pieces. Waited probably 25-30mins which was longer than I had expected seeing as there were only about 8 people there for dinner. Just be careful if your eating there with you dog we found several broken pieces of glass around and under our table. The outlook over the pool and the water at sunset was absolutely beautiful aswell.

I had high hopes for Julio’s, but unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The flavours were disappointing, with the Mexican rice and beef tacos both lacking the bold, authentic seasoning you’d expect from Mexican cuisine. Everything tasted quite bland and unremarkable.

The service was another letdown. From the start, we felt rushed to place our order, and once the food was brought out, no one checked in to ensure we were satisfied. As we had a late booking on New Year’s Eve, it seemed the staff were more focused on wrapping up the night than providing a good dining experience.

There was no warning that the kitchen was about to close, so we missed the opportunity to order desserts. To make matters worse, the bar had also closed without notice, leaving us unable to order drinks before it shut. It felt as though they were ushering customers out rather than celebrating the occasion, which was especially disappointing given it was New Year’s Eve.

Overall, the lack of flavour, poor communication, and rushed atmosphere left us disappointed. Julio’s has potential, but significant improvements in both food quality and customer service are needed to make it worth...
