What used to be an AMAZING pub, has died !!! I attended the Kevin Bloody Wilson event there on the weekend and was not impressed. It was laid out so that you had to walk from the stage area out through the back decked area, down the ramp, through the car park and into the front bar to get drinks (There was a small bar in the staged area, but had minimal drinks, couldn't even get a coke). There was a curtained entrance into the stage area near the pokies entrance with Security stationed there. When I attended the bar to get a drink, I was informed that I could go back through there. When I approached Security and advised him that the bar staff said I could go through there, he let me through under sufferance. I then continued to walk through the car park to get my drinks most of the night. At the end of the event, I was in the main bar area and went to walk back through the curtained area and was told no (Along with many other people who were trying to). The owner then came through, got in my face, and said "Well, I am the owner of this place, and I said you cannot walk through here" I advised that it was his bar staff that said I could. To that he responded "I don't care who said that, but if you are TOLD to do something by one of my staff all you say is YES'. Just for context ....... To walk from the stage area, out the back of the pub, down the ramp, round through the car park and into the main bar, you have to walk alone through the car park where there were no security and poor lighting. This is a serious safety risk to the patrons. I witnessed one patron slip on the ramp when going around to the bar and not knowing who was in the car park area was also a risk. Everyone attending the event had on green wrist bands and there was no reason that the curtained area could not have been opened to those that had on the wrist bands (this is how it was set up the weekend before when I was there) as the back deck area was set up like that to get back through when you came back from getting a drink. Do you remember the times where you have gone to leave a pub and tried to walk into the car park with a drink in your hand to only be stopped by security and your drink removed?...... This is because their liqueur license does not extend to the car park (unless they have prior approval and it is the only a one-off permit required for each event, I have not been able to find any approval document to show that they did have a permit for this event). At the end of the night a patron walked towards the front exit to leave the venue and had a drink in his hands, it took three âRent A Cops" to tell him he couldn't take a drink off the premises (into the car park) .......... Hmmmmmm but they had been telling us to do that all night to get drinks. Very poor form from the owner and the Security Staff. I little bit of respect and courtesy goes a long way to sustaining return patrons and building a reputable business. For the past 20 years I have been going to the Kinross Woolshed and can say this was by far the worst experience I have had at the Kinross and possibly at any other pub. It has lost all of its "Country" Pub charm that it once had and gained and arrogant pig of an owner with "Rent A Cop" Minions !!!!!!!!!...
Read moreThe manager cancelled food service to a function of 33 people, 15 minutes prior to the agreed time, despite four months of planning with the venue and still expected payment.
All venues attended throughout the bus tour were informed four months in advanced this was a bus tour for a 30th birthday with a dress theme consisting of 35â45 people. We requested if the venues had specific areas they'd like us to remain, in order to reduce disruption to their usual patrons. Each venue was contacted one week prior to the date for final confirmation, all confirmed. Including The Kinross, that had agreed to host our afternoon meal.
The planners of the bus tour had met with the Manager one month prior, in person, to confirm menu options and discuss an outdoor game the group would like to part-take in on the field behind the venue, immediately after disembarking from the bus. The manager confirmed the games could go ahead.
Following our arrival, the Manager approached the planners of the bus tour and informed them he was not aware this was a bus tour, that they were the last stop, and that he was not comfortable serving some members of the party. The planners respected the venue's RSA responsibilities and asked where those individuals might best be located while awaiting the food service. The Manager informed planners they were to wait off the property (in 36 degree heat) and would not be able to access water or toilet facilities of the venue. When asked how many individuals this would affect, the manager responded 'at least ten'. It was at this point in the discussion the EFTPOS machine came from the manger, and the planners were asked to pay over $1,200 for a food service that a third of the party would not be able to access. The planner declined to make payment until a resolution could be made. The manager stated that now all members of the party would be refused service. However, all 33 members of the party had already received service from the venue's staff, without issue. We respected the venue's right to refuse service and moved on.
We spoke with three members of the Kinross staff and the manager via phone, e-mail and in-person over four months prior to the event and were upfront to all venues visited that day. Disgraceful to be accused of lying. Disgraceful to request payment mid-discussion. Luckily an emergency venue pulled together what took you four months, in less than 40 minutes and they had...
Read moreThis review comes off the back of a previous experience at this venue wherein my friend and I were accused of stealing our meals when we checked if our order would be ready soon after a 3 hour wait.
We were met by staff who accused us of stealing our own meals and trying to come back for more. we explained that did not happen and were threatened that footage showed us doing so, when I asked to see that footage and speak to a manager we were told the camera system wasn't working and given a $10 voucher for the "slight" inconvenience of being humiliated in front of 300 patrons.
I actually had not been back to the venue since then, but had see decent reviews since and thought we would try it again
Never again! We had a booking well in advance (6 weeks) of 65 people - half hour line up times for ordering, which is fine - but then a 2+ hour wait time food. People who had ordered half an hour after others received main meals before those people who ordered before and even entrees and kids meals were a 2 hour wait for some.
We personally waited 2 hours for our kids meals and others waited longer or didn't get their meals at all without having to check in multiple times.
The staff were beyond rude, we were scolded for asking for a high chair that was catered for within our booking and we had 2 filthy ones dumped at us with eye rolls from staff.
I had the buzzer slammed down and me and was told "I said just wait" when checking if the meal ordered 2+ hours ago on a buzzer that had received all other mains was still coming.
Eventually everyone got their meals, however majority were not even edible. my steak was blue, my chips were stale and my corn was frozen still... my partner didn't even eat a quarter of his meal -Â so there was no redemption had and most definitely $140Â wasted.
I politely emailed the Kinross and offered constructive feedback, because we were really disappointed and I was replied to by a venue manager who ridiculed my complaint, insinutated the wait time experienced didn't happen & after a series of rude emails from her she then requested I attend to say this to her face and confirmed the standard of staff and hospitality experienced in a busy period is still the same level in the quiet period.
0/10 - I will NEVER go back and if you sift through all the reviews you will find it is an...
