Have been here twice.
First time I got a seafood basket. Food was average, chips were alright but fish parts were not up to scratch. Gave it a miss for a couple of months to today.
I got some chips, seafood sticks and a banana fritter. Chips were again alright, seafood sticks ok for what they are but the banana fritter was processed and disgusting.
Food quality seems average and improvements can definitely be made for some items. (Batters for items are pretty easy and cheap to make for what they are and would greatly improve alot of items on the menu).
Service is ok but food took a long time to get especially for how busy it was (in comparison to staff/customer ratio orders in other similar places) and the items ordered.
Prices seem to be on the higher end and definitely bad for the processed food you get on the deep fried section of the menu. Other items look OK but not willing to go back again to try and further strengthen feedback.
I'm no food critic and not here to tell you not to try it but I can see general quality and bang for...
Read moreIts Not Halal Alert For Muslim eating from Thurgoona Take Away. Hi All, My online order experience with Thurgoona Take Away was deeply disappointing. I was assured over the phone that all the meat was halal, but I later discovered that they were also selling pork. This was concerning because I had specifically asked about the halal status. Moreover, the fact that all their food, including halal and non-halal, is cooked on the same BBQ burner is a significant issue. It's crucial for Muslim customers not to eat from Thurgoona Take Away. The food is contaminated with pork which makes all the meals NON - HALAL. Please Stop Telling people that your Food is Halal. I’m unable to respond to your response, but I would suggest don’t mislead customers with saying Halal. There is no effort taken to cook the food separately from fork. Thats make the food contaminated and NON HALAL. Please...
Read moreI recently had a very disappointing experience at Thurgoona Dine and Takeaway. The customer service was severely lacking—basic items like water and cutlery were not provided, and we had to request them ourselves. We ordered the chicken biryani and mango lassi. While the biryani was decent, it was extremely dry and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the raita that typically accompanies biryani was not included. When we inquired about it, the staff hurriedly prepared a bowl of raita in front of us, mixing a large amount of Greek yogurt with some vegetables, which resulted in a dish that was unpleasant and unappetizing.
As for the mango lassi, it was overly spiced and completely undrinkable. The combination of poor service and disappointing food made for an overall negative experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on what I...
