Lake Vue Cafe — Restaurant in New South Wales

We took our grandson there for an ice cream and we had coffee, we have been going there for over 30 years the shop has been known for its generous ice creams, we have seen a few different owners/workers. This visit was the best visit ever, the owner? was so friendly and she took the time to speak and interact with our grandson. Our grandson ‘helped’ her get the ice creams and she took him behind the counter to choose what lollies he wanted. Our grandson is 6 and you could see the happiness on his face and he didn’t stop talking about his experience all the way home and as soon as he saw his mum and dad he told them all about it. Only downside of the visit is due to the fact that the owner of the caravan park has built a fantastic park but locals/visitors cannot use it, it’s for caravan park patrons only! What makes me angry is that there was a small park there before which the kids were able to enjoy, now they can only look at this new park, so wrong! Our kids enjoy coming here for the ice cream but after today's experience we won't be back. The woman serving was incredibly rude when we asked for a bowl as our daughter (who is only 2) decided she wanted a bowl like daddy instead of her waffle cone. When my husband asked for a bowl, he was met with aggression from the woman serving who demanded we pay 50 cents for a paper bowl. When he questioned why he needed to do this considering we had just spent a considerable amount of money already, she continuously just yelled at him bowls are 50 cents!! Then as he walked away she told HIM off for being rude under her breath. Eventually they got us a bowl from out the back but by then everyone who was outside had heard the conversation and were all discussing how rude and overpriced the store was. What a lovely place to stop and rest, take in the view of the surrounding hills and the weir :) walking up the lovely little path in to the cafe you see lots of lil trinkets, rustic glittery things shining bright, preparing you for the welcoming smiles coming to serve you oh so nice Well the food what can I say it was abundant in portion fresh and made instantly to your liking take a look at the pics YUMM! You must try the potato skins Mmmmm They have a BIG Ice cream bar lots of favorite flavors something for everyone, I could not possibly fit one in after lunch but I do intend on coming back just for a ice cream and a lil chit chat with the owner and workers.
