DO NOT STOP HERE!!! The place is so filthy, despite aperently it has just been clean as all the chairs where on top of the tables, there were only 2 tables to sit down, I even though it was closed and it was only take away, the point was to let my daughters eat and have a play, however the playground was closed. There was 4 people working at it (including the manager) and despite not being busy there where dirty tables ( the only 2 you could sit on), spider webs on the self order machines, rubbish on the floor (even though all the "caution wet floor, cleaning in progress" where everywhere) and overfilling rubbish bins. Can even talk about the toilets. So no matter how hungry or desperate you are, just wait, just go into Gundagai and find something else.

McDonald's is in South Gundagai, you turn left from Hume Hwy to Mount St. And start to your left. You coming from Albury go left up the ramp to the bridge right turn to Cross Street, go the around about and right again to McDonald's. It was a good meal, also very busy on the day. Very busy in the morning, nice service, the Staff are so Wonderful and Helpful, do the best to service your. 😀 We had a Big Brekkie Burger 🍔 😋 with cappuccino, Mac Coffee ☕️ and Milkshake. Come and order your Breakfast. Enjoy your Big Mac for lunch 😋, and Chicken 🐔 Nuggets. Inside there is a playground for the children to enjoy. Are you hungry 😋 come to Gundagai McDonald's, on your away to Sydney or Melbourne. Have your Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.

MACCAS TAKE NOTE!! This McDonald’s needs urgent attention to their processes and hygiene. 2 days in a row 30minute wait!! I don’t want to judge people or the staff get in trouble, rather have someone come Out and give them the proper training they need to run the McDonald’s properly. The staff here’s presentation was terrible, no gloves on touching the food, heavily sweating, shirts untucked and the 30 minute wait times for food is just ridiculous! I have been to many McDonald’s all across nsw but have not seen one in such disarray and in URGENT need of a state manager taking hold of the restaurant and bringing it up to compliance.

Literally the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. Busy queues inside, long drive thru queues... Because....the whole thing is a shambles inside. After driving back to Sydney from Melbourne we seems to pass a Maccas every 10 minutes on the first couple of hours but after making the decision to stop for a quick Maccas pickup and carry on the drive they all disappeared and then next Maccas on route was Gundagai which satnav said was an hour away so we held out for wee breaks for Gundagai Maccas.

We got there, we went in to toilets did the business, saw the food queue was massive so decided to go drive thru.

The drive thru took 15 mins to get to the speaker which didn't really work and was very crackly and hard to hear the Maccas employ. The Maccas employee when told this said yeah I know. We asked why things were so slow and she said "it's the manager, she's sooo slow". 😲 It got worse, it took us 20 minutes to get to picking up our order which was missing the coffees - I had to ask where the coffees were. She said, oh you'll have to wait in the waiting bay. Upon pulling in the waiting bay I inspected the food to find that the chips were all cold and one was white and not even thawed out! So I went inside and asked for replacement chips which they were in the process of cooking. I was horrified to see the staff, walking around like zombies in the night. Long hair hanging out, shirts untucked, the floor was slip hazard galore, coca cola all over the floor and chips lay thrown around everywhere like a chip grenade has been thrown into the kitchen area! There she stood. The manager. Avoiding eye contact and head down. Seemingly frantic and moving arojndike a headless chicken. In the background lay gormless employees who look like they had their hardware corrupted. I had thought maybe there was a staff shortage whilst pondering some of life's biggest questions in the 20 minute drive thru queue. But no, there was your normal amount of Maccas staff just all zombified. After 10 further minutes of my life waiting for our missed coffee and replacement chips, the time I will never get back- I watched it all happen.

It made me laugh a little, especially after recently watching 'the founder' and the scene where the two MacDonald brothers mark out a series of chalk outline kitchens in a basketball court and then watch their employees role play and act out the process of making the burgers and fries and then making slight layout improvements in chalk until they get the fastest and most efficient kitchen layout. This day in gundagai was certainly not what the MacDonald brothers had in mind with their fast food restaurant.

To the franchisee of this MacDonald's, named ema Collier - you need to sort ya kitchen out - employ some motivation to the people who work for you. Or just sell up and go.

To the people driving the Hume looking for a Maccas - drive on by this one unless you want to turn a 10 minute stop into a 45 minute debarcle.

Ye, in the end it was 45 minute epsidode from queueing to getting the correct food and drinks. I've had a mild cast of PTSD from this episode. I've gone to a local Maccas since to restore faith of the Maccas system and was comforted to know there are still Maccas that operate to the standards people know of with a Maccas.

Ok,...

This was the single strangest Maccas I have ever attended, with staffing more akin to that of a theatrical sketch-comic than any existence based in reality. I'm confident a staff member sustained injury during my brief 15 minutes at the joint, hearing remarks from her that "Maccas is a dangerous place to work" and that she was "heading to the ER to get stitches".

Every individual here is unique, which is wonderful to see for inclusivity and a splendour to observe for the local passerby. Beckons were heard across the kitchen floor, a caucus of wails littered among the dystopian beeps which typically emanate from the dredge-fryers. A mullet or two adorn the tallest of staffers, adding to the rurality of the establishment. The visiting crowd could not be more dissimilar from the workers therein, each tourist's face equally shrouded in bewilderment at the circus that ensued.

The food was fine; great, actually. The chips were sub-par, but that alone is likely on-par for the modern franchise. The McCrispy was well-prepared with a thicc piece of chicken and sufficiently sauced. The double cheeseburger was aptly sauced, staffers heeding to the request for extra sauce and pickles. No complaints here.

The shambles resumed in the bathrooms. My partner reported that the female toilets had what she could only hope was 'mud' (I believe that her hope was in vain, but nevertheless...) smeared all along the cubicle walls, and what appeared to be an entire commercial-sized roll of toilet paper littered in varying portions across the floor. I am pleased to report that the male toilets were a marked improvement. My heart is heavy with sorrow for the likely-minor workers assigned bathroom duty for that afternoon.

Would I return? In a heartbeat. You simply don't get a show this good...
