Where to begin.... 2 months ago, I rang and booked the outdoor covered glass room, in its entirety, for a first birthday. The week leading up to the party I hadn't heard anything so I called to confirm the room myself. I spoke to the 2IC Grant (Grant if you're reading this, get out now, this place will ruin you and you are far too good for this "establishment") Grant was handsdown, one of the most wonderful people I've ever dealt with in customer service, unfortunately, that's where the smiles end. Grant informed me that unfortunately, someone else had approved a second booking, in the same room, on the same day, at the same time 🙃 amazing. Grant rang me the next day to tell me the second party had cancelled. Fab 👌 While I was talking party plans with Grant, I told Grant that we have arranged for some entertainment for the little ones, just some trays on the floor that they can play in, the business will set up and clean up, you won't even know she's been here. Great says Grant. Sounds like fun. I also asked Grant if it was ok if we had a some finger food, chippies, fruit platter etc before we all order lunch. Grant said that was fine, just no lunch food, ie, lasagne etc to be brought in. No problems! Easy! It's D day, I have a teething one year old, a migraine and I'm running late, I get to paddy's, start unloading decorations, food, and the messy trays start getting set up. I'm so excited everything is going to plan. LOL. First cab off the rank, the old fella thats been there longer than anyone, comes out and literally scalds my friends for setting up snack on their table "who told you that you could do that?! You are not allowed to be doing that!" OK first off, don't carry on, secondly, he had spoken to me countless times, he knew I was the host, we could have had a private conversation. Im confused and a bit annoyed and go inside and ask him what's going on, he tells me, and I quote, " the head chef is out the back absolutely losing his shit because of what you guys are doing out there" lol sorry what? Some chips and dip? OK dahl. And that someone was going to come have a chat to me. About 5 minutes later, a woman, dressed in black, who did not introduce her self, was the head chef? The manager? The undertaker? No idea. Told me that the food we had set up was illegal. And that we didn't have to pack it up because we had already set it up (I'll try that next time I get pulled over for speeding) but for next time (lol as if) we can't bring ANYTHING other than cake. I told her I was ok with packing up the cold meats etc because I genuinely didn't want to piss anyone off, she agreed, and said "that might start to make amends with the kitchen and the head chef".. 😅 After I explained I had a conversation with Grant, she threw grant under the bus and said that I should have ordered from the catering menu If i wanted snack foods etc. I have since looked at the catering menu - $28 for 10 pieces of either party pies, prawn cocktails, sausage rolls, calamari rings etc... Sorry where did the chef get his qualifications? The freezer ailse at woolies? No wonder he was mad - over $1000 in catering that would have been. I was then told the owner was going to "come down and have words with me". I'm still waiting for this. The play business set up an area for the children, was told to pack up because she was set up in a walk way, a walk way through the room that I had booked.. She wasn't asked to move politely, she was told by some troll looking woman "oh my God what are you doing?! you cant do that here?!" instead of, once again, pulling me aside and saying "hey, sorry but the room you privately booked is also a thoroughfare to outside so your also going to have random people walking through your party, amongst your children, you might want to move it". The BS carry on from the staff was nothing but embarrassing, not one of us ordered lunch because of this, and owner, if you're reading this, you've got my number, feel free to call me and give me that talking to, because I would LOVE to chat. Dw I made the room...
Read moreWe to Paddy's on 2 occasions in the last week. Unfortunately the food has gone down hill in last few weeks. Mains were cooked before breads and left under heat lamps for at least 20 mins before our buzzer went off. Steak was tough and over cooked. Some of the other meals were good, however second time the entire thing was atrocious. Hotel was not overly busy. Half hour after ordering breads I asked what was going on with the order, I was told by front of house staff that there were new kiitchen staff and they were struggling to keep up with orders and our meals would be an hours wait. Our mains came out after an hour, to be told they had run out of some sauces we ordered and missing the prawn, garlic sauces for 3 meals. Unfortunately the front of house staff started to cop my anger over the whole debacle, so I spoke to the alleged chef. He attempted to blame the front staff for him not reading an order docket and other kitchen staff. His attitude was at the very least poor and disrespectful to a customer that had paid good money for food. It is very clear there is no communication between kitchen and front staff when they are running out of food or overwhelmed with orders and cannot keep up. When we did get to eat our meals most were inedible, chips were soggy on all but one meal out of 5, chicken was tough. Really disappointed as we were there for a birthday. After speaking with front house manager, I apologised to front staff. Chef came out to apologise, however this was full of excuses as to why it was so bad, and no acceptance of his poor attitude. He is clearly to young and inexperienced in running a busy kitchen, yet it was not that busy last night. It should not be the customer's issue that the kitchen has new staff and non English speaking staff that cannot read dockets. I did receive a refund and offer of free drinks, desert's. I really enjoy Paddy's for a meal, however I will not be...
Read moreDON'T EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES My husband and I went for dinner and he was going to order the pork belly. He has SEVERE anaphylaxis to nuts. We are aware that restaurants often have other dishes cooked with nuts so contamination is a possibility. He carries epi-pens for this reason. I went up to order and (even though it didn't mention any nuts for the pork belly) checked that the Asian salad with it didn't have nuts. The lady serving me went to check with the kitchen and came back and told me that THE ENTIRE PORK HAD NUTS ALL OVER IT!!! Absolutely no mention on the menu of any nuts in that dish but it could have killed my husband, considering it had nuts not just traces. We decided not to risk anything else and left. Don't go there is you have any food issues as you can't even...
