I came here to celebrate reaching some personal goals and was looking forward to treating myself with a nice meal and a couple of glasses of wine. Instead, I left feeling disappointed and unwelcome.
I dined alone in an almost empty restaurant and was charged a 10% service fee, which was never explained or displayed on the menu. When I questioned it, they did remove it — but despite asking several times, I was never given a clear answer about why it was there in the first place. Which is very strange considering there was almost no customers.
One of the staff members stood behind the counter pulling mocking faces at me, which was incredibly unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable.
The wine was cheap and unpleasant for the price, and the pizza was average at best, I've never had a Hawaiian pizza that tastes of nothing but garlic and barely any pineapple at all. Overall, the service felt unfriendly and the whole experience left a bad taste. Between the hidden fee, poor attitude, and over-priced low-quality food and drinks, I won’t...
Read moreThis came across my radar simply because it was so highly rated, and it included the word pizza. But we weren't going to go because the name also includes the word "bar". The last thing I wanted to do is eat pizza in some seedy backstreet place that also has a bar, because I was going with my family. Thankfully, no bar and no TVs, but they do serve alcohol if you want it. How was the food? Three of us had pizza and the rest had pasta or risotto. The pizza was easily some of the best I have eaten and there were no leftovers in our group. One person even said she wanted to lick her bowl clean of the risotto sauce. The food had a very homemade taste to it, and nothing felt like it was bought in bulk or franchised. The staff were all polite, observant, and hard-working, and the place was quite busy given that it was a...
Read moreWe were on holidays from Sydney and was looking for a great local pizza and pasta restaurant. The reviews were spot on - this place is a hidden gem! We ordered the Big Hunger pizza, the spaghetti bolognaise (kids size), the garlic chill shrimp (entre) and the seafood marina pasta (main). They all came out fresh, piping hot, and delish!
My only tip for the owners would be to make the kids size spaghetti larger (or to accompany it with a slice of garlic bread, bc the pasta portion was small and not enough to feed my 8 and 10yr); plus lots more sauce and toppings on the pizza please. (We sopped up the pizza in the leftover garlic chill prawn dish which was yummy).
In summary, my family all enjoyed their meals and would be happy to come again -...
