Ettalong Beach — Attraction in Ettalong Beach

Great little beach for the kids to swim at. Busy when it’s warm. Plenty of free parking spots and good amenities located close to the beach plus several eating options catering for different price points and taste. There are viewing platforms along the road if you want to keep your feet off the sand. There’s a play area for the kids that will keep them entertained and a nice walking path along the water. There are grassed areas if you are looking for a picnic with a view. There’s an outside shower to wash the sand off before getting back in the car. I've visited Ettalong Beach this afternoon (Saturday 10/8/2024). It's easy to get here by public transport, just stop at Woy Woy train station, then catch a bus in front of Woolworths/Public Library directly to the beach with just a little bit of walking from the bus stop to the beach. The bus drivers here seems to be very nice when you ask for directions to the beach and from the beach back to the station. I really appreciate that as my phone was nearly die and was frustrated where to catch the bus and where to get off. The beach was quite quiet during this time of the year. Enjoyed my time chilling out in the shallows. Something did splash behind me and I saw a fish breach which was cool. But yeah, my shark fear kicked in for a second and i moved away from the darkness closer to the shore ha. Googled shark attacks in the region and all seemed to happen around Shelly beach not here. All good. The Box takeaway shop makes a solid popcorn prawn taco and fishnchips....
