We stopped at 1861 last week while travelling through the area. The building (large corrugated iron shed) on the eastern side of the property was clearly closed and the building on the western side didn't appear to have an entrance. We followed the parking sign to the rear but still weren't 100% sure if they were open, or if we were even meant to be out the back. We ended up following other patrons who arrived through a small entry at the front and found our way in. The staff member was lovely. The portions well sized. I had the lamb rack and it was cooked perfectly. I wish we had more time to get starters but we had to keep travelling. The gardens are a great atmosphere and I can imagine the place looks spectacular during a function with all the lights and fires going. If the owners see this; My only suggestion would be some signage and/or lights near the small front entrance (amongst the vine covered wall) to make it clear where to go.
