Stacks Burger House is not just a burger house at all, it’s a cafe, coffee spot and hun of style. Owners Jason & Emma Young opened the store, and also own the Fish tribe project on the same street in Kiama Downs. They’ve got a good thing going in the area. So busy when we visited! Decor wise, their style is beachy, Palm Springs chic. We love the pastel colour palette, hanging flower arrangement and straw pendant lights. The menu is great and they have quality ingredients using local suppliers for quality produce which is used in their brekkie options, salads and burgers. We visited morning and night to try both menus. For breakfast we tried the Harissa chilli scrambled eggs, served on crispy olive oil sourdough with goats curd, a lovely and filling brekkie. In addition, the free range poached eggs were served with broccolini, wilted spinach, shredded carrot, crispy quinoa, danish feta and a smear of pumpkin hummus. Plenty of brekkie options on offer. By night we had a Buddha Bowl, a generous serving of Quinoa, avocado, spinach, broccolini, beetroot, sweet potato, cherry tomato, radish, edamame, crispy kale, and pumpkin hummus. You can grab some add ons, I went for the marinated chicken for a protein hit. But it is a burger house so you’ve gotta try one. We went for the beef, cheese and bacon burger with an 180gm beef patty, American cheddar, bacon, sweet pickles, Stacks house tomato relish, mustard served on a milk bun. A delicious burger on all fronts. We ordered this with a side of potato gems. There’s so many burgers from fried chicken to bbq pulled pork and even a bun less option with lettuce. Drink wise, they have set themselves up for coffee lovers, using Allpress Espresso for their bean. By night you can even have a beer or cider, stocking Queensland Brand Balter. We encourage you to make a visit if heading down the south coast.

Located opposite the surf club near the beach in Kiama Downs, Stacks Eatery is chic and welcoming. There is a warm yet modern interior to greet you as you walk in the front door, along with friendly staff. There is a display of pastries, muffins, muffins and tarts in the display window by the front counter to wet your appetite and entice you. The menu is extensive and you can have breakfast throughout most of the day. There is a Buddha bown and poke bowl for the health conscious, though most of the menu is health focused. There are burgers that are served with fries and you can have a meal deal that includes a Balter beer. The specials board in enticing. On this occasion the Buddha bowl with drilled chicken had a generous serve and had a good balance or texture, flavour and wieght. Not too heavy nor too light. The immunity booster juice wasn't too sweet and complemented the meal well. Completing the visit was a very wonderful Portuguese tart. The custard was well baked, and was light and fluffy. Service is quick and there is extensive seating indoors and a few tables outside. A great place to stop into whilst doing the beach walks.

This place seems lovely but I just waited 45 minutes for takeaway with not very nice service. When I approached them at 30 mins of waiting they said ‘oh it’s a bit of a wait do you still want me to check when it’s ready?’ I said yes please and they said oh you’re next and I still waited another 15 mins. Would prefer to be told about the wait as I order and checked on, not made to feel bad after paying $60 and then checking at 30 minutes for takeaway. Perhaps don’t offer the service if you are unable to deliver. Did finally get the burgers to have burnt chicken patty with no avocado and and a beef patty that only took up 1/2 the bun. Left with a half bun with no meat. Would never visit again.

The place is cute but seriously do not bother coming. The barista/ man who served us had no interest in creating a welcoming environment, not to mention he had holes in the bottom of his shirt which just appeared dodgy. That was only the beginning, my friends had matcha which made them feel like eating grass would have been fresher. If you desire quick food service DEFINITELY DO NOT come here. My friends got their steak sandwiches in which the bread got soggy as they ate. And this was a lengthy wait for them to just get their food. You couldn’t imagine waiting 45 minutes for your burger, yet that’s what I had to experience. My partner had asked when we were getting our food only to be told “it’s a big burger they take time” if you are going to serve someone a burger in which takes almost an hour to be served. Atleast let them know, not to mention once I got the burger it wasn’t even flavourful in the first place, the meat was flavourless, the bacon was mid and the sauce was just everywhere. Please be advised when coming here the only thing worth while was the chocolate milkshake, unless you want soggy and mid food that won’t arrive till after sufficiently wasted your time and money. Don’t bother....
