The Bakers Cafe is only a short walk from where we are staying so decided to have a light breakie. Nice looking cafe with outdoor seating only. Good selection to choose from such as eggs Benedict, pancakes, veggie breakfast to name a few. We opted for a bacon and egg roll, vege pie and mochas. Cost $23.39 not sure how the 39c got there? The roll was over toasted it was very crunchy making it very dry, only a slice bacon and the egg. Very ordinary. The pie was just warm and it wasn’t like we got there at opening and the contents very bland mostly mash with a few greens and carrot thrown in for colour. The tomato sauce was the only condiment that gave it flavour. The pastry was the nicest part, light and crunchy even the base. My Hubbie asked the barista to make sure the mochas were ‘burning’ hot unfortunately she didn’t make to instruction and they were medium heat so by the time breakie was finished they were just warm. Even though the mocha was warm it was pretty good. Looked like a popular spot, people popping in to get their morning caffeine fix and fresh bread. Not somewhere I’m likely to go again.

Very good value for the money. Burger with softdrink $10 only. It tastes much better than it looks. The people behind the counter could be a bit more welcoming and at least pretend that they like their job. It was hard to find a clean table outside in the shade. It was just us and one other guest there.

If you've just finished your weekly Saturday morning parkrun at nearby Kingscliff, then this is a really good place to wind down with a well earned delicious coffee. Bacon and egg rolls are a big hit here too. Nice sunny spot outdoors adds to the experience.

Serves small. Coffee good but served cold. My wife asked for a detailed order of food i.e. 1 egg, poached, sourdough, 2 side orders. I then joked to the cashier "My order is really complex. Burger and chips and mug-a-chino" the cashier smiled at that so clearly she got the simplicity message. When the food arrived shortly after the cold coffee I asked after the chips not delivered. My wife's serving was notably small. Re my burger the only good thing was the crisp bun. The chicken patty was unpleasant and clearly pre manufactured. It clearly had been zapped (not grilled) in combination with a yellow substance (cheese, mayo, unknown yellow goo), sweet chilly sauce and some small quantity of hot zapped seaweed like lettuce substance being the sum total of the salad content of the burger. Half way through consumption we asked the passing waitress again after the chips. "Coming!" Then when we were both finished and the waitress come to collect the plates I asked again after the chips. That's when the string of excuses began. It seems that it is somebow my fault. Apparently I didn't order chips but she will get the kitchen to cook them anyway. The real kicker was her telling me that "chips are not part of the deal". What b**y deal?! I asked and paid for burger and chips. $33+ in total for our order in fact. She was going to prove it by going to get the receipt but we can have the chips. We proved it by abruptly leaving and they can...

I have been coming here for a few years now and don't mind the location, sitting outside in the sun to eat my pie. Lately I've noticed different staff there nearly every time I go there. The service doesn't seem to improve either. Several times I've ordered a pie only to bite into it and realise I've been given a different pie. Not a life threatening drama so I didn't bother returning them. Their pies are below average at best, but for a quick, cheap and easy snack it'll do. Today I bought a chicken and vegetable pie and a vanilla slice. The pie had nothing I recognized as chicken in it. It did have some veges, not many, that looked like they were from a bag of frozen veges. There was some sort of sauce. It also was nowhere near hot, Luke warm would be an upgrade. The vanilla slice was nearly as warm as the pie. I took that home and put it in the fridge for a while. I don't think I'll order the chicken and vege pie or vanilla slice again. I'll still go there when I'm in the area but only if I'm really hungry and can't wait another 10 minutes to home to Tweed to my usual bakery. It costs more but quality is worth it and my pie will be...
