The food was decent at a friendly neighbourhood cafe, simple meal, and I thought this must be one of the hidden secrets of salamander Bay Area.
We spent just over 50 for 2 adults and 1 eating child, which I thought for the food we got felt little pricy given the decor when we walked in, but then again we are at touristy spot and anywhere else would have costed more. And I loved the family vibe there which was wonderful.
Portion was alright, the bruschetta was little small (and unfortunately taken the wrong order) but everything tasted great. Sounded funny but our favourite at least for our kid was the buttery toast which really was fluffy and great.
Staffs were friendly, and you know this is really the friendly neighbourhood joint when everyone packs their own cups back to the counters.

Because they take way too long to make even a simplest coffee (every time we've ordered it even over the phone 15 mins in advance it was never ready even when we got there) Ordered 2 coffees today, got them and then wanted to eat some croissants we've purchased somewhere else (because coffee shop cannot even closely provide such good croissants) and were told to f...k off pretty much although we've purchased the coffee there. We had to eat the croissants and drink coffee standing up at our car then. I then went back to tell them they aren't going to see us again and the guy just said no worries, have a great day. And basically didn't care. So this shop obviously doesn't give a damn for their customers and I'm making you aware of this before...

We had eggs benny and french toast, coffee (excellent - it tastes like people who enjoy coffee are the ones who make the coffee), and a berry&banana smoothie for our non-coffee drinkers. These people make good food. When they say "crispy bacon", they mean it. People drop by to pickup takeaway coffees, but you're missing out if that's all you get. And they have simple or adventurous alternatives (Haggis, black and white pudding for the adventurous along with raisin toast, a range of hot and cold breakfasts/bruchy foods including lovely plump croissants). Thank you Lisa and...
