This establishment last night exhibited discrimination through the use of intimidation and harrassment. Our family were gathered for a meal and looking forward to the following entertainment. I had contacted the venue earlier in the week to question time constraints around children. I was advised that the children needed to be off the premises by 9.30. At the time i explained that we had 4 littlies coming along anx were hoping to have the children hear the first song from the iconic band Mental as Anything...their grandfathers favourite band. I was advised this wouldnt be a problem. Come 9pm last night and we were told the children needed to leave.. I explained to the security person my.conversation during the week and he said no worries just maybe have them leave as soon after the first song..due to be played at 9.20 From this it escalated downwards. An older and extremely rude duty manager confronted my daughter and said "kids out now!" He was utterly putrid in the way he spoke and stood over the top of my daughter - we were all sitting quietly in the dining area mind you!. I approached him and told him.my conversation during the week and he then.said too bad..its at my discretion...kids out. He then proceeded to get 3 other security guards to come and stalk our table..this behaviour frightened our grnadchildren leaving them extremely anxious. What ensued was simply a grown man who quite clearly has an issue with a woman questioning him. They then decided that my son who was taking photos of us for the night had to delete them!° we were ultimately forced to leave the venue and as a grandmother and also a an educational.leader i have never been ' forced ' to leave a venue!!!! I as well as my family.members were intimidated and harrassed. Your venue has no declared statutes on children in the dining room or being required to leave the premises at a certain time.nor is it advertised on ur website or in the venue itself. I will be expecting a full.written apology...
Read moreTravelled an hour to watch son-in-laws band. At 9pm was sitting in a quite area with my daughter and 12 week old grandson asleep in his pram when we were told quite arrogantly we had to leave the premises due to having the baby with us. When manager was spoken to and it was explained that baby was band members son and my daughter was his driver the manager quite rudely said they weren't willing to lose their mortgage over baby being there and to leave. As my daughter could not just travel home and back because of distance we then had to sit in the car in car park for the next 2 hours waiting for gig to finish. At no time was the baby near the bar or gaming rooms and I found the way we were treated and spoken to especially by security very rude and intimidating. I will never step foot in this establishment again and will be advising everyone I know of the rude and arrogant security...
Read moreThe bowling club is nice, but Hot Plate is not worth a look 🤮🤮🤮 overpriced, overcooked food, with mediocre service. Over the last 4 years we’ve given it a few attempts to see improvement (Snittys - tiny & processed meat, Rare steak - over cooked and flavourless, Thai green curry - tastes like home make Keens chicken curry). Last night, at the request of a friend we came for rib night - complete waste of a visit. Shrivelled beef ribs sitting in a bain-marie, charged $5.50 for Diane sauce, and the guy at the counter had a poor attitude for someone who’s meant to be customer facing… We ended up getting a refund, leaving and going to a local pub in Woodberry. Free Diane sauce, and delicious $15 panko crumbed snittys.
Best advice, avoid Hot Plate at all costs, and support other local eateries in the area - I can think of at least 3 who do better food at a...
