We stayed here to attend a sporting event down the road at Speers Point. We had two rooms and they have both been well renovated. Beds were very comfortable and clean. The rooms were clean and bright with modern furnishings and a balcony to look down towards the lake. Technically we were on the street side but could still see the lake. Bathrooms were modern and clean. Located above the pub, we didn't hear any noise even though we stayed over a weekend. No noise from the road as it is quiet at night and there is a 10pm noise curfew for the rooms. Entry to the accommodation is from the rear of the building so there is no need to go into the pub area aside from check in. Rooms are accessed through a security door so cannot be accessed by the public. We enjoyed a meal downstairs and the food was delicious. The downstairs bars and bistro are modern and we had great service. Car park is small but there is a carpark immediately next door that you can use so that isn't a issue. Right across the road from the lake and it only takes 25 mins to drive into the city of Newcastle. Glendale shops are 10 mins drive down the road. No cooking facilities in the rooms but there are some bowls, spoons, small milks, glasses and mugs so you can bring some cereal for breakfast. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay and we will be back again for future sporting events. Picture of the grilled seafood plate - absolutely delicious

A Culinary Oasis by the LakeI recently had the pleasure of dining at Pippi's restaurant in Central Coast, NSW, and it was nothing short of an extraordinary experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the inviting atmosphere and warm hospitality. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the seafood fried platter. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the chef's dedication to perfection. The freshness of the seafood and the expertly executed cooking left my taste buds dancing with delight. What sets Pippi's apart is not just the exceptional cuisine but also the breathtaking views. The water vistas combined with a sunset peeking through the pine trees created a serene backdrop that elevated the entire dining experience. The staff's attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall charm of the evening. It's evident that passion drives every aspect of this establishment, from the carefully crafted menu to the picturesque setting. If you're in search of a culinary haven that marries delectable dishes with a mesmerizing environment, Pippi's is the place to be. My evening there was a sensory journey, leaving me eager to return for more culinary delights in this idyllic lakeside retreat. Highly recommended!

I recently dined at this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The customer service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our visit. However, the quality of the food left something to be desired. The knives and plates had leftover residue on top, indicating it wasn't cleaned properly, which was quite off-putting. The cold dish king fish was particularly disappointing—it looked good and was plated at the right temperature, but unfortunately, it wasn't fresh enough, taste bitter. The barramundi was okay, but side salad just disappointed. Overall, while the service was top-notch, the kitchen needs to step up its game in terms of cleanliness and freshness. Unfortunately not recommended. The smell of the restaurant is unpleasant, very stinky. Honestly, we had to leave and go to the nearest hotel to eat

Went to Pippis for dinner with a group on Saturday night. It was very busy being the last Saturday night before Christmas. Was advised at time of ordering it would be approx a 1 hour wait for our meals. We were OK with the wait. The 2 steak dinners arrived approx 1 hour after ordering however the 2 salmon dishes did not. When we enquired as to where the 2 missing meals were we were advised they had been delivered to the table and someone else must have eaten them. So Pippis offered to cook 2 more salmon dishes and shouted us a round of drinks. Not ideal but again we were OK with this. 1 hour and 45 minutes after placing our initial order we still had no salmon dishes. The waitress come out with 2 salmon dishes which we thought were ours. She placed them in front of us and after we started to eat questioned if we were sure they were our meals. She then said that we were eating someone elses meal. We believed these were our meals and rightly so after 2 hour wait. Next thing the manager supported with a security guard come over and told us we are eating someone else's dinner and they we would have to leave the premises. Thats right we were getting kicked out of Pippis for eating a meal we thought was ours!!!! Did the people that ate our meal get kicked out too?? We were not drunk or misbehaving we were just eating what we thought was our meal! Nice location overlooking the lake but it is a very noisy and busy venue and they have too many tables and patrons to cater for from the size of the kitchen they use. Need big improvement from the point of sale to delivering peoples meals especially during busy times....maybe a buzzer system to avoid confusion. Would not recommend. Very disappointed. Sorry but we...

We dined as a group of 10 Family & friends, booking at 12am.||Note do not use their online menu as the pub menu is different.||We started with shared plates|2 servings of prawn & Mango Bruschetta $16 each, 1 bruschetta per serving (last 2) ???very nice|2 servings of seared scallops 4 per serving $22 each. Very well cooked plump & juicy, very nice|1 garlic bread as they had sold out, really|1 Ceviche of king fish $19 again very nice|1 buffalo wings $18 again lovely||For the mains||1 grilled seafood plate $33 supposed to have grilled salmon but they ran out & substituted with barra, very nice.||1 Prawn & Pancetta linguine, pasta was overcooked.||1 confit duck with pan fried gnocchi, the gnocchi was burnt confit duck should be tender & juicy, this was neither.||1 char grilled lamb loin, it was totally overcooked & tough, only able to force down about a quarter not nice at all.||I had the gilled barra with crushed kipfler potatoes ( not crushed) & Thai salad, certainly did not taste like thai salad, but I did enjoy the meal||1 beer Battered ling chips & salad, my wife lover fish & chips, but not this one, the 3 pieces of fish we oily & left an unpleasant taste in the mouth, even the chips were not the enjoyable.||1 Fried seafood platter, about 10 % eaten the white bait & calamari was floury & left that terrible taste in the mouth.||We can only assume the kitchen was to busy & the food not cared for.||The taste comes from old oil used for multiple food types, can not explain it any other way.||on leaving I did notice numerous unfinished meal, especially the...
