I would definitely give Teale Cafe and Catering a 5 star plus rating in all areas. Since the new owners have taken over recently i have been there on a number of occasions and at different times and have always found the food is excellent very delicious having tried different things on the menu well prepared and presented. The staff are all very obliging friendly and helpful even at peak times when they are very busy. Like all new business and new people taking over customers have to be prepared for change to the environment staff and especially the menu as they say a new broom sweeps clean. And while it might not please everyone especially past regular customers with the previous owners give it time and give it a go try the different things on the menu. The chefs are excellent and the new owner has had years of experience in hospitality and top cafes in the area. So if they is something you,weren't happy about on your visit to Teale Cafe don't leave negative comments on social media speak to the manager or staff. This is an updated review. Covid compliant dining in. Bookings taken. Great spot for coffee, either alone or with friends. Recent visit was brunch with 2 friends. Regular menu and Specials board offers a good selection of fresh food. Menu caters for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free.. Spoke to the chef who was so accommodating to create a specially cooked vegan meal for me, as I liked different elements on the menu. It sounded so good my friend ordered tge same meal. My other friend had a fresh Friand which never disappoints. I have enjoyed the treats at Teale prior to adopting vegan lifestyle. Hard to find cafes that offer a menu with diverse selections catering for dietry requirements. So whatever your food choice, you are bound to find something here to satisfy you. We’ve eaten here before and had a decent experience, but unfortunately it seems that service standards aren’t what they used to be. We went in around 11am on a Saturday, plenty of open tables and were told it was about a 20-30 min wait for food. It took at least 15 minutes for anyone to come by to take our order, another 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. At almost an hour since we had arrived, the cafe was probably 30% full and no one had come by to check on us or update us.
