The Baker's Den Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Decent food. Staff are nice for the most part.

Except for one lady.

Around 12 to 1pm today [lunchtime] a female staff member called out my Mum's order number on the receipt. We were outside at the time and she kept yelling the order number. We walked up to her as her back was turned away from us and she didn't hear my attempts to get her attention. We were polite about it and we told her it's our order.

She had a attitude when we thanked her and grabbed the chips, she practically threw the chips in Mum's hands rather than handing it over. She muttered something under her breath and walked back into the bakery with a filthy furious face.

So rude and not okay. Especially since we didn't do anything to warrant that behaviour. Get another job if you can't serve customers properly.

Response to owner: All I ask is that you remind your female staff member that she gets paid to serve customers. Her customer service skills are non existent so she needs a talking to or more. Keep that attitude at home, you're act work so be...

This is a real gem, the place has some of the best cakes l have ever eaten and that is alot of cakes, whatseems like a reasonably humble exterior opens the a fantastic cafe unlike anything north of Terrigal. the coffee is good the breakfasts are just great personally like the pork rolls where the pork pulled away from the bone leaving you with what l would consider the best pulled pork roll cafe style in NSW you with might want to try something like a pies or go sweet with the strawberry lamingtons not from hell but heaven and to top thing off the service is good and the staff are friendly and...

We have been going to Baker's Den for years and have made great friends with the owners. I'm not saying that because we know them well but because they have earned it! All the food is amazing and very hard to flaw. Coffee's and teas are all very tasty😋 You can even see they have received awards for the best pies on their walls. There is nothing like eating a pie that is locally recognised as being THE BEST♥️ I would definitely recommend this place when you're passing by in Swansea. Really hard to recommend a certain dish of theirs, but all their pies, cakes, chips, chicken, and pork gravy rolls...
