THYNK Cafe + Bar — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Honestly a bit of a disappointing experience. Came here with business colleagues for a quiet professional catchup over afternoon tea, they didn't have any coke no sugar which was a bit disappointing, especially on top of the fact their keto options were limited to the most expensive items on the menu, I couldn't even get a drink! The worst part was 20mins into our afternoon tea staff or folks in Thynk labelled clothing started piling in to the cafe rolling in crates of spirits and set up a marketing success presentation and were cheering and clapping loudly while myself and my colleagues where two table spaces away. It felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional to have what was clearly an internal meeting happening in their public spaces. We felt very intrusive and were unable to hear at times due to the loudness of their meeting. Not to mention a lady chose the moment we sat down at our table to change the light bulb directly behind us even though it was 2pm and very bright and sunny out. Not a great vibe, would not go...

In an unlikely location sits this cool vibe establishment incorporating a cafe- catering for brekky, lunch and dinner, licensed Bar, and perfect for a quick or leisurely coffee stop too. Went here with friends for Sunday lunch and did it all....coffee, beer ,wine, lunch. We dined indoors , then progressed to comfy lounge to finish off our wine. Four of us all happy with our meals. Outdoor dining available too which is dog friendly, so will bring our pupper for a coffee here.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating, plus full table service- for me always worthy of a star🌟 makes this a 5 🌟 Next time you're on Weakley's Dr ,driving past the industrial area and spot this venue with the big black THYNX letters, pull in to their carpark and check it out. This is a much needed and unique venue in the area that I live in. Close to Chisholm, Thornton, Beresfield, East Maitland ....if travelling up or down from sydney a perfect pit stop with real food and clean facilities. Even a steampunk men's room and flash...

Thynk Cafe, maybe think again!

Ordered a Margherita Pizza, and Peri Peri Chicken Pizza. At $18 & $22 plus a card fee, you'd expect that the pizza is good.

The Margherita Pizza didn't have any olive oil or Basil, and when asked, about it, I was told "It's just a garnish mate" no signs of letting the customer know if they don't have all the ingredient for a dish that's advertised on their menu. See the pics

Anyways the Peri Peri Pizza, youd expect peri peri chicken, but it was basically just shredded chicken, no sign or taste of peri peri seasoning.

Look, i get it, it's not a place one should go for a pizza, but Atleast they could share their shortcomings in the inventory if they don't have the ingredients. I'd like know what I am paying for is there, not find out it's not there.

The staff didn't really cared, but seems to try and brush it off as nice.

But this is certainly a very nice atmosphere in Beresfield, if only they can improve their pizzas, this would be a great...
