Wildflame Barbecue and Bar — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Took my 18 year old son there last night after wanting to try this place for a while but did not want to go alone. We had the "All you can meat" ONLY $50 per head which is cheap and great bang for buck, if you have been to the butchers' lately you would know what I mean. The meats were tender like marshmallow melted in my mouth; came with 3 sides and 3 sauces per head and the corn was charred and delicious. The food was plentiful even brought home take away left over containers which had for dinner tonight. The staff were soooo friendly, I could not believe it when they asked me what I wanted more of as a top up I was already full. The smoked and BBQ favorers lingered with me all night was soooo delicious. The bar is at club prices and the atmosphere is amazing. Saved me a ticket to fly to America to experience an America style BBQ restaurant as its here in Maitland Australia Ill be back. Next time I'm trying...

Have been twice now. Both times went with 7 other people so spent in excess of $500 plus drinks. 1st time at end of 2021 was great. This time July 2022 was Not good.

"Pork crackle" resembled something like Styrofoam (litteraly) and was inedible.

Bbq prawns smelt "fishy" which indicates they were NOT fresh, and they were burnt so badly the shell couldn't be peeled so we couldn't eat them. They were suppose to come out as an entree but didnt arrive untill after mains.

The churros last time came with 3 dipping sauces in ramekins, however this time all 3 sauces were just mixed and drizzled all over an over sized plate :-(

One of the chefs was having a bad night and was seen to be throwing tongs around and losing hes cool during service.

Plz bring back the "Share platters"

Staff were good but meat was bad. Ordered the so called short ribs and they were probably the worst ribs I've ever had, could have told me the ribs were microwaved and I'd believe you. So tough to eat and had no flavour, the house made sauce was so strong and sweet, taist like tomato sauce and BBQ sauce mixed together. The damper with dips was the worst thing I've ever purchased from a restaurant in my life, 2 sauces were absolutely disgusting and 1 was I think a cottage cheese of some sort, a tasteless hard cottage cheese, I have no idea how they can expect people to dip their bread in those. All up for 1 meal and 1 entree cost $60 and I only ate the corn and chips. I don't care how big the meals are, if the food is bad then it's a waste of money and food.
