Bangkok Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in North Tamworth

A large group of us settled on Bangkok Thai for dinner as we travelled through Tamworth. From what we could tell, we were one of the only large groups dining that evening (Easter Monday). With one or two other couples or small groups in the restaurant at the time. We were seated by staff who were poorly trained in customer service. They failed to greet us warmly and were quite abrasive through the night. Drink orders were taken for parts of the group, but not others, forcing some of us to purchase drinks from the bar. When drink orders were taken, waitstaff were rude. At one point the waitress raised her voice to the table, exclaiming "DRINKS!?" Demanding our immediate attention as though politely asking small groups of us for our drink order was a tremendous inconvenience. Staff were forgetful, bringing only partial orders on at least three separate occasions. Food was ok, however grossly overpriced, which led to another debacle. Upon ordering our food we were informed that the bill could not be split, so as we ordered, we noted the price of our items so that all 15 of us could gather cash. Upon bringing us the bill at the end of the night, after we had all reluctantly left the restaurant to withdraw cash, we were then informed that the Easter Monday holiday would incur a 10% surcharge which they refused to waive, despite our complaints about the service and the fact that we weren't informed properly upon ordering. After over $500 in meals, we ended up in a verbal battle with management over a $40 surcharge, which he refused to budge on. Very disappointing Ordered three dishes which were very small portions and cost the best part of $70. Food was bland and looked like from a packet. When the owner asked how was our meals I was honest and said what I thought of her food (small portions and bland) . Not a word from the owner who didn't care but to take my money. Amazing Thai food can be found at Bangkok Thai in Tamworth. I happened to be in Tamworth for a friend's birthday & was taken to Bangkok Thai.
