Hungry Joe's Pizza — Restaurant in Northern Territory

JUST FORGET IT. OUR FOOD NEVER CAME.

My family wanted a pizza night. Something better than Domino's. So we ordered 3 pizzas and a couple sides via the Uber app at 7:20pm with an estimated delivery time between 7:45pm and 8:15pm, but absolute latest as 8:45pm. When it got to 8:15pm, long after the first delivery driver had already bailed, I asked the 2nd delivery what was happening. I was told they'd been waiting to get the pizza for half an hour. They waited another 10mins or so before also bailing. The third delivery driver got there. It was about 8:45pm at this point. I asked the delivery driver what was going on, he said he was waiting for them to cook the food. My brother called the restaurant and they just obfuscated, but suggested the food will be on it's way shortly. Come 9:20pm, the 2 hour mark, we just gave up. It was past all the kids bed times. We were all hungry and just needed fast easy food at that point, so McDonald's it was. I made a formal complaint through Uber who immediately gave a full refund, but I'll never go near this so-called 'restaurant' again. Awful experience for my whole family.

Update: to be clear, the fault for this lies solely on the restaurant, NOT the delivery driver as per the lies touted by the reply below: 2 delivery drivers had already given up remember. Don't be gaslighted by dodgy establishments...

Firstly..i have worked at a few pizza shops around australia. So my opinion is justified by my previous experience.

So i walked into hungry joes on a wednesday night. Not to busy. I oreded a 12 inch joe special. They have pizza ovens i am familiar with and i know how long a pizza takes to make and cook in busy periods and also in off peak periods. They informed me 20 mins. Fair enough. I paid 22 dollars. A bit steep for a 12 inch pizza.

The interior of the shop is quite out dated. The roof mind you is unpainted with plastering still covering the nail holes. A pizza shop needs to say "this is my love for pizza" not this is the way i make money and i dont care what you think of my shop.

The pizza i recieved for a expensive price of 22 dollars , was ok for the first slice.

Then i noticed how incredibly thin the doe was not to mention the calculation of topping. The sauce was something you could whip up in minutes.( a true pizza sauce to cook takes between 2 and 3 hours).

I was left still hungry after eating the over priced pizza.. dominoes make a better pizza to be honest. And thats being nice.. i hope the owner reads this..i was being nice for giving you 2 stars..the reason being the nice lady at the front counter.. i hope you change things mate..darwin is a tough place at the moment financially.. keep going like this..you will...

Never been or had take away from Hungry Joe's, but always heard good reports from family and friends, so decided to join membership and order takeaway, the website took me half hour to navigate after placing the order, all I could get was message saying, ready to pick up in 15 minutes. No confirmation of acceptance of order or payment required. After 30 minute arrival to pick up, was told they had no order, it was in the system but did not come through to them. I told the girl I joined up with membership, given my full name and phone number, would have been nice to get a curtsy call to confirm my order. Don't care any more to be missing out, will not accept bad service anywhere. Will continue with very good service...
