Elmore Bakery/Cafe — Restaurant in Northern Victoria Region

The perfect place to stop during a road trip! We love visiting bakeries while on road trips, the food is great and the staff are always genuinely friendly and The Elmore Bakery was no exception! We walked in to find a vast array of baked goods and excitedly chose a mix (some for now and some for later). We ordered the Apple Cake, Vanilla Slice, Custard Tart and the Family Chunky Beef Pie. The cakes were outstanding but hands down our favourite was the Apple Cake. I had never had one before but must say I will now be on the hunt for it again! The pie was also delicious and the perfect size to heat up and have with salad later in the day. Elmore Bakery has recently undergone a building alteration. The bakery is clean staff pleasant and polite. The bakery has various bread/rolls etc, pies (various flavours), pasties (including a vegetarian), sausage rolls plus party size pies/pasties. Cream sponges, various home sweet and savoury pies, a very good assortment of individual cakes/slices, and biscuits. A favourite is the assorted slice tray which is very useful for morning tea treat. Freshly, premade sandwiches and rolls are available as are yoghurt museli cups/fresh fruit salad. Coffee, soft drink and water. Papers and magazines are normally available. Occasionally, day old bread/rolls maybe available at a reduced price. A good country bakery. Opps! nearly forgot, Christmas baked goodies...

Just reviewing the pies. Had the steak bacon cheese and chilli beer beef.

Steak bacon cheese was made well and flavour was good. Pie held together but unfortunately there wasn't many if any steak pieces at all. Was also very thin. If they had more steak pieces and if they made it as thick as the chilli beer beef then it would be a top rated pie.

Beer chilli beef pie was a great size and held together well. Flavour was nice and had a mild spice to it. Only downsides were that the pastry was a bit on the hard size and was dry. Could also do with a bit more steak pieces.

Overall pies were decent and above...
