Totally peeved at this place. It was 1.30pm (closes 3pm), over 30 degrees, my kids 2 and 5 had walked over from the property up the road for a quick local bite within walking distance after having just checked in to accommodation after a long drive. We saw this place had great ratings. We walked in, plates to be cleared with scraps on most tables on first observation, staff advised me that they were out of food and waiting on a food delivery. We asked if they had anything left and were advised they could only do coffee and cakes. It was so hot that still decided to sit down and get a cold drink and a scone for the kids as they were thirsty and hungry, it was too hot, getting late and the kids needed an energy refuel.

The next staff member had asked what we would like and gave us a menu, which there was no point to as they said what was on display only (1 scone and 2 brownies or similar). The staff member looked unimpressed when we asked for the scone.

The x2 very small milkshakes, 1 scone arrived.

5 minutes later, the woman asks the staff what they would like to eat, pasta or bacon or? Then start cooking in the kitchen...

It seems they could have offered some food and if it was that they couldn't be bothered serving anyone else, just say we are closing due to the heat, but don't lie and then cook food so obviously infront of us and talk about food options you said you did not have. Pretty cold service for little children, I couldn't care less if it was just us adults but when you involve children, I'll definitely take the time to report this information back.

It's a low rating from me and an expensive and hot detour with poor service for...

I’ve been a local for over 15 years. I’m sad to say that I’ve been to the nursery many times but not the cafe…. Well after today’s great experience I think you’ve just got yourself a new regular! Firstly I just want to say how lovely and attentive our waitress was. She was over attentive in the best way and just made us feel looked after from the start! (I wish I got her name- she truely is a gem!) Food came out quickly considering how busy you guys were- and it was perfect! Well seasoned, flavoursome and not overcooked- good sized portions - both of us couldn’t even finish lol. The ambience is super cute - like cute cottage feel- which fits in perfect with the nursery! Now that gets me into the nursery - really really good prices ( better than Bunnings) and the plants look healthy and vibrant - love the variety and that you have some unusual things! I may have bought more than I planned but I just couldn’t help myself! Locals if you have not been out here yet - you need to get there asap! If I could give you 6...

Heard so many positives about this place and was excited to finally able to get out here and enjoy a brunch yesterday with my fiancé. The waiter was nice, though when he brought our cutlery and napkins to the table he literally just threw them down and kept going. My fiancé ordered the Avocado bruschetta, with a side of hash brown and mushrooms. Was nice but underwhelming, $18 for the dish and $4 for one hash brown and $4 for 4 half pieces of mushrooms. He left feeling hungry still, we can’t eat beef or pork products due to allergies and there wasn’t much of a BIG breakfast option for vegetarians and we apparently couldn’t swap the beef/pork products for extra veg options on the big breakfast. I ordered the popovers, they felt stale and heated in a microwave (hot on the outside), cold inside and chewy. I was quite disappointed. The waiter didn’t bother to check on us as we attempted to get his attention as he walked around. For $63 for two meals, smoothie and shake, it’s just...

Very friendly and service mindes staff. The food here is on the higher scale of unhealth. After a long night it might be exactly what your after. We where after a bit more healthy. A yoghurt bowl with some nice fruit or a bircher muesli could have been a perfect addition to the menu. A croque monsieur for $23 or an eggs benedicte at $24 did not impress. Also the croque monsieur should have a lot more cheese on it and less béchamel sauce. This place is also heavily overpriced. I assume during peak season in Hunter Valley they have a queue no matter what. There are better places for breakfast in Hunter Valley.

The perfect little secret!! The only place (we have found) in the valley that makes their own hollandaise!! Set in a serene corner of the nursery. From the subtle trickling sound of water from the pond to the flash of colour from the fish and the various plants surrounding the deck where we sat, we could have been in any jungle around the world. Truffle mushroom and a Big breakfast paved the way for our day. Finishing off with a Lattè each we were left speechless and completely satisfied. Thank you Simply D'Vine, we will most definitely be back for more.
