What a pleasure to write this review! We drove from Thornton for a birthday lunch. As soon as we walked in we enjoyed the atmosphere - the refurbishment goes on but it's really pleasant already. Very friendly helpful staff. And the food wine and beer - EXCELLENT. 1) MAybe the best Barrmundi I've ever eatern, soft, moist and very tasty. Red hot fresh chips and salad. A Steal at $18! 2) The Chilli Prawns - a beaufitully flavored, richly textured plate of quality prawns. Another steal at $18! 3) The Plloughman's luinch - our only minor disappointment - not enough bread (which was toasted and delicious), and almost no pickles. I don't remember the mustard either! We overlook this minor issue as what was on the plate was good. At $18 though it didn't live up to the other excellent dishes. 4) The wine: Paterson's serves beautiful local Boydell's wines - excellent, well priced and enjoyable. I don't remember how much but I do know t was reasonable or I WOULD remember! 6) Finally the beer - they have a super IPA (I think it was Tinman bit don't rcall precisely). My wife and i highly recommend Paterson pub - we had a very enjoyable lunch session for our joint birthday!

There isn’t anything not to love about this pub. Every time I drive through, I find myself stopping in for either a sneaky beer or something to eat. Today was no exception, I came in for lunch and was blown away by the flavour and cooked-well-ed-ness of my Paterson burger and chips combo! The burger pattie was perfectly cooked, lettuce etc fresh and bun fluffy! The chips also had the perfect amount of crisp and golden in colour! A small side of aioli wouldn’t have a gone astray to dip the chips in but with the juiciness of the burger it didn’t really bother me. Will be back! Again.. and again..(Newcastle resident).

Wasn't going to eat at the tavern because there were lots of cars out the front, thinking there would be no tables available. Before driving off to go elsewhere, we rang and was told there were some available. There was plenty of areas to sit both inside and out so don't let all the cars outside put you off. I had the Squid with a side of chips and slaw ( a nice change from salad!) and my husband had the Fish and Chips. Both were big servings and delicious. My husband is fussy with beer on tap but commented how good his tasted. Maybe some background music could be played in the tavern to add to the atmosphere.

If I could have rated lower I would have. We went for dinner and rang for the courtesy bus to pick us up. We got told we can't ring to book a table and need to do it online but the courtesy bus wouldn't be a problem. 6oclock rolls around and no bus. We got told that there are 2 staff on and they can't. We drove. For dinner the qr code didn't match the new menu. The bar staff were extremely rude. I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza off the qr code and it didn't show up with others meals. The lady said it wasn't ordered, the bar staff said it was. Omg biggest confusion and even though I was the first to order I was the last to receive.

Others got their meals and $32 for a steak and a handful of chips is way overcharged. The corridore between the indoor and outdoor area was making me dry reach from the smell of poo mixed with urine and i hope it was coming from the bathroom on the left and not the kitchen on the right.

Rediculous pricing, ridiculously rude staff and rediculous menu. I'd pick mcdonalds out of a trash can before...

It’s great to have a hospitality venue close to home (30 mins) Thursday night The food selection was good, even for a coeliac. Food and wine prices very reasonable. Whilst we understand the business’s vertical integration, the wine by the glass list would benefit from expansion. Ordering was fairly easy, but the staff were run off their feet. Probably one more crew would smooth and de-stress a well drilled team. The bistro hall is a great asset, but lacks ambiance. Our table for two felt like we were bobbing around in a boiling sea. I have significant experience in hospitality services and recommend urgent consideration be given to acoustic treatments in this space. Polished concrete floors, raw brick walls and vast plasterboard ceilings can only result in a cacophony of noise. I know you need to move patrons through with a certain pace, but the space is currently not conducive to sitting and enjoying a nice meal. We will continue to give our full support to Boydell’s Wines, the Paterson Tavern and all the...
