We had a quick breakfast at this bakery on our way to Adelaide last Friday morning. Seems to be a popular bakery in town. Coffees were excellent and the freshly baked bread/ foccacia was very nice too. The staff was most pleasant and helpful. Both the young girls who served us and made the coffees were lovely. We enjoyed our visit there.

Highly recommended for baked items. Our short stop included a Chunky Steak Pie and a Caramel Slice. Both were excellent. The pie rated 7/10 with excellent pastry and a good filling. The Caramel Slice was the highlight. Crackling chocolate topping, smooth caramel and a nice base. 9/10.

Great coffee, it's a shame the vanilla slices are kept in a fridge. But the service here was exceptional .. The pies are great though and there is an excellent range. Pastries as well. I would be a regular if I lived here!!

Unless you arrive before 10.30 am there will never be any hot pastries left. Staff are sullen and overwhelmed. At 11.50 am there’s no pasties, no sausage rolls, no meat pies (of any variety). If you manage to score a pasty, the size and filling taste varies according to which chef has cooked it (according to staff). The hot food, when available, is just passable but very greasy and mediocre at best. More pastry than filling. I think the management no longer care as it’s just getting worse. No real “atmosphere” except for grumbles (customers and staff). One girl having to cope with a line out the door. One girl on coffee and another making the slowest made sandwiches ever. Absolutely appalling for the district and given it is school holidays it reflects badly for visitors. It’s the only bakery for kms. Many disappointed and frustrated customers. I very rarely leave reviews and have visited this business many times (over 5 years) as I am a local (20 km away - country resident) but felt this needed to be said....

The young staff seemed to struggle with the number of customers on a busy public holiday. We wanted Cornish pasties but they were sold out so we settled for a potato pie and a pepper steak pie. The pies were luke warm and there was so much cheese on top of the potato that it was not readily recognisable as mashed potato. The pepper steak filling seemed to be the standard mince filling with a extra grind from the pepper mill.

The mug sized flat white coffee was weak and a temperature that was OK for me but would be too cold for many people.

We shared a French vanilla slice which was about average but lacking in vanilla and the custard was a bit rubbery. The girl who served me seemed very distracted. Hopefully it is better on a normal day but we were not sufficiently impressed to go out of our...

I would say that this is a good apple cake. The cake is quite doughy and there is a high dough to apple ratio which generally not what you want but the dough is nice so it doesn’t really matter. It’s soft almost like bread and a touch of vanilla. There is only a thin layer of icing which is also against conventional wisdom but it still somehow works out ok. This apple cake is lower on the squish/delish scale due to increased doughyness but still really nice. It’s...
