Rusty’s Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Pittsworth

Disappointed

I took the trouble of booking a table on a Friday for a meal with family on a Saturday night. When I booked, I was polite and to the point about booking a table for the following evening the man taking my booking said everything was fine and he was looking at a Table for me already.

So Saturday night we arrive and look for our pre booked table, there were two empty tables for 6 set nicely, the group after us were sat at a suitable sized pre set table, but my group of five were shown to a long table that would sit 10 people at, and the table looked like it had been previously used and was unset.

I spoke to the waitress and said I had pre booked a table, she appeared to not go check a booking sheet(the venue was not busy), I asked after the other set tables which she said were for guests arriving later, (the tables didn’t get used for the evening at all)

She did say the 2nd time I spoke with her that we could sit at the pre set table, but by this time it was to late my guests were not interested in moving.

The whole scenario was embarrassing,

My questions for the manager is do you use a daily restaurant booking sheet? If not why do your staff not check it?

Im a 30 year veteran of the hospitality industry, so I’m by no means blaming the wait staff, this is clearly an indication of managements lack of training for staff.

The meals were adequate, the rest of the night was ok, but the start of our evening out was abysmal.

We recently moved to Pittsworth and this was our 2nd time at the venue, our plan was to support local businesses, so our next visit I hope there will not be a repeat...

So underrated. This is a modern, comfortable restaurant. There's proper wooden tables and seats you can get comfortable in. The lighting is appropriate. In all, I'd take my mother here. The menu was good. We ordered an entrée (oysters) and we really enjoyed it. The steak came exactly as we ordered, in a totally acceptable time and I'm very pleased to say it was as good a steak I've ordered anywhere in the world. My wife's was equally as satisfying. The vegetables were excellent and the sauce was beautiful. I would have been satisfied if I had paid double the amount. The wait staff were very friendly. There was an event on at the same time and we didn't get forgotten and the room acoustics allowed us to chat privately and...

I sent my daughter to get some dinner and tonight I had meet lovers palmy with a beautiful fresh salad and the chips beautiful golden and just the right amount of salt. My daughter got a 250 g sirloin steak rare. And her partner got chicken carbonara. So next time people get down to Rusty's Bar and Grill say g'day to Steve and the staff as they put on a fresh welcoming feed and the price is well worth every cent.
