I was very keen to see this museum of the history of Pittsworth as my wife's family had property there over 4 generations. Many of the buildings had been relocated there from around the original village including the post office and CWA hall. We had a lot to see and were mindful of the very limited opening time of 2 hours so had to rush the last buildings as we spent too much time at various points of interest. The lace collection is not area specific but is substantial and world class. A very 'left of centre' unexpected surprise! It is well housed and the gem in the crown of the village. There was an obvious lack of volunteer involvment or pride in upkeep of the many buildings as everything other than the lace collection was deteriorating and in need of urgent restoration and preservation, particularly the cheese factory display, cattle breeding histories, and the paper records strewen around the stage area that showed evidence of silverfish and cockroach attack.
