We had an enjoyable lunch at Baume on valentine's day. The arancini entree comprised 6 balls with a mushy rice filling with basil and sun dried tomato served with snow peas shoots and dipping sauce. They were cooked perfectly and flavorsome but my wife prefers the rice the to not be as mushy so it has a nice 'nutty' texture. The lemon pepper calamari was also a generous serving size and cooked to perfection. The lemon pepper was not really prominent but the aioli and a fresh squeeze of lemon added that bit of zing. We had a 15 min gap before the main dish which was prawn linguini. This was also a generous serving that had a fantastic creamy tomato based sauce a with plenty of pan seared tender tomatoes mixed through. In fact we managed to each about half and took the remainder home as I wanted to also try the vanilla Panna cotta with berries and crushed pistachios along with a coffee. The dessert was faultless. So if you eat here, I recommend you try their dessert ☺

We didn't order any woodfired pizza as we preferred to try more starters and a main. From what we say coming out of the oven the pizzas looked like a large serving and many diners were taking a good portion home 😆

The prices of the starters and mains were reasonable considering the generous servings. The dessert prices $16 is a bit high. I think $12 would be more reasonable.

Beer and soft drink pricing is borderline.

The service was friendly but could have been an bit more attentive as we had to get their attention to request the dessert and coffee menu. Another slight oversight was no spoon was provided with the pasta meal nor offered any cracked pepper.

We will most likely go here again on a quite day like to day as I think the place may struggle a bit when really busy and it could be...

I recently dined at Baumé in Pokolbin and was disappointed with the overall experience. The staff appeared unfriendly and rushed, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. When we politely requested to keep the menu for a bit longer, it was taken away almost immediately, leaving us feeling rushed. The reception staff also appeared indifferent, which left a poor first impression.

The kitchen seemed slow and unable to keep up, even though the restaurant was not busy at the time. Additionally, the waitress repeatedly asked if we wanted drinks, to the point where it felt overly pushy and intrusive.

The presentation of the linguine was unappealing, with the sauce, greens, king prawns, and cheese randomly mixed together. Instead of a delicate and flavorful dish, it lacked the richness expected from great Italian cuisine.

The entrée was impressive, hitting all the right notes, but the main course was a disappointment. There seems to be some consistency issues with the kitchen.

Baumé advertises itself as dog-friendly, but my friend and her dog, and I, certainly didn’t see friendly faces when we walked in, let alone feel welcome. This was especially disappointing compared to the amazing service and smiles we experienced at local wineries in the area.

Overall, the lack of warmth, attentiveness, and efficient service made for an underwhelming experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the service for...

We Went there for a 40th birthday surprise brunch Friday 16 May which we have informed the manager when we made the booking. As our friends stroll in for the brunch it was already noisy in the restaurant and there were other groups of patrons having a great time. We were told that our group was too noisy and needed to keep voice down. We accepted and quieten down. We were later then being told off as we were too noisy again and needed to keep the noise level down as another older group on another table was moved outside due to our noise level. When we all finished the manager then approached our group demanding that we must pay before leaving. I was gobsmacked that we were being treated like this. For the most part, we asked to be seated outside in the first place. Denied!! due to staffing. Then the other elderly group got the seating outside. Confused??? Told to be quiet and other party groups were there. Confused again... Told to be paid before we leave table? Common. What kind of a restaurant that assumes we were going to run off and not pay for a group of 15 people. I am utterly disgusted with the attitude from the manager. Acting rude and operating the restaurant like we were 2nd class citizens. I am sorry but this sort of behaviour I can't tolerate due the racial profiling. We will not be coming back ever again. Thank you very much for ruining what was a beginning of a wonderful...

My family and I came here a couple of months ago and noticed a significant difference in service, atmosphere, food, and portion sizes. We were told that the pizzas and pastas were no longer share meals, and were individual only. However, the prices were still the same. I ordered the same meal as last time, the linguine prawn, and was disappointed in the lack of sauce and large cuts of onion, as pictured. This was not the case with my last visit to this restaurant. When I went to the bathroom, I noted that there was paper towel overflowing onto the floor, and no toilet paper in one of the stalls. In any other restaurant, I would have notified the staff of this, however, I wanted to limit interactions with them due to my experience this evening. Later, as my partner and siblings were standing out on the deck waiting for our parents to pay, for minutes might I add, we were bluntly asked whether we had paid for the bill. I was taken aback - two months ago we did not have this happen, and had a much larger group. To add to this, there was no audible music playing, the staff seemed extremely disinterested and even quiet and reserved - we noticed this almost instantly as soon as we walked in. Obviously there has been many negative changes recently. Bring the old Baumé back.

We arrived in Pokolbin on Monday and we hadn’t organised dinner anywhere. After some searching and skimming over quite a few negative reviews of other places, we called ahead and luckily there was a spot for us at for dinner. We were welcomed by Scott who was super friendly, cheerful and accomodating. We ordered the garlic flat bread to start, pork belly for main, with a side of roast pumpkin and greens. We were over the moon with the quality and deliciousness of this meal! The flat bread alone was fantastic, but the star was the rich pork belly with gravy. The fresh crisp greens and soft, rich pumpkin were also outstanding. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I personally love my pork belly skin just a touch crispier, but that was just a small little drawback. I still devoured the entire thing; it was that tasty! The meals here are for sharing and the prices are fair, especially for the deliciousness! If you’re unsure where to go for a delicious dinner around here; check out BAUME. We’ll be back for sure.
