We have no words to express how honoured we are to have had our wedding at Spicers Vineyards Estate.
Our wedding was originally meant to happen in March 2020. Unfortunately the pandemic meant we had to cancel 3 days before it was due to happen. We then rescheduled for August 2021, but the second big lockdown meant we had to cancel yet again. We finally locked in a date for May 2022, and wow - to say we were blown away by the Spicers team and premises, is an understatement 😭
Everything about our wedding experience with Spicers was perfect, despite all the COVID-related setbacks. We’d like to call out Sara in particular for being there for us since the beginning of our journey, 3 years ago!! Her professionalism, responsiveness and genuine love for her job really shone through and our wedding was perfect as a result of that. No request was ever too big or too small for her. Thank you Sara - we will never forget you and everything you’ve done for us, and there are no words that can express how grateful we are for you. What an asset to Spicers you are.
As for the food, holy heck. The feedback from our guests (and ourselves) was that everything on the day was delicious - from the canapés, the grazing platters, the 3 course dinner and the breakfast the following day. Fresh, seasonal produce cooked to perfection for every meal, all served by the kindest staff who genuinely enjoyed their jobs. Such a winning combination.
All in all, we and our 45 guests were made to feel like absolute royalty from start to finish. Thank you so much to the entire Spicers team for everything you did for us - we appreciate you all, and we are already looking to returning for our wedding anniversary 🥰

Read moreA Perfect Start to Our Marriage Unforgettable Experience at Spicers Vineyard Estate After leaving the Kingsley in Newcastle, where we had our wedding reception the night before, we headed to Spicers Vineyard Estate for our second night as a married couple. From the moment we arrived, we were incredibly impressed by the level of service, comfort, and attention to detail. We were warmly greeted at reception, and the staff immediately assisted with our bags insisting we didn’t lift a finger. When we arrived at our suite, we were welcomed by a cozy open fire and a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. Not only that, but the team also arranged a light snack so we could relax by the fire before heading to our dinner reservation. At dinner, the staff once again made us feel special by congratulating us on our marriage and offering complimentary drinks as we browsed the beautifully curated menu. Every detail of our stay was exceptional from the luxurious Leif Buddha Wood hand soap to the heated floors, towel racks, and the indulgent double spa bath. It’s clear that a great deal of care has gone into creating a space that is both luxurious and welcoming. We want to sincerely thank the management and staff for making us feel so cared for during such a meaningful time. We’ll absolutely be back for future special occasions and will be recommending Spicers Vineyard Estate to all our friends and family. I would highly recommend future brides and grooms to consider Spices Vineyard State as a venue for their wedding reception. It’s an exceptional location that offers a beautiful and memorable setting for such a...
Read moreWhen looking at the accommodation choices online, we couldn’t decide between Spicer’s Vineyard Estate and The Convent. In the end we decided to book one night in each to experience both properties and their respective restaurants. If you are currently reading these reviews to decide between the two hotels, then don’t hesitate and pick up the phone to Spicer’s, as it wins hands down.
While not as aesthetically pleasing as The Convent, Spicer’s is still a beautiful property and having an open fireplace in your room is never a bad thing. The style is more modern country, with the room being large and comfortable. The check-in and check-out were both friendly and efficient, with nice touches like giving guests free flower seeds to plant at home.
The real difference is Botanica, which is a beautiful intimate restaurant. We had a warm welcome from the team and our waitress was amazing. She was only 19 years old but was engaging and had a great knowledge of the wine list and the food on the menu. The wine she recommended was perfect, the dishes she recommended were amazing. Between the restaurant, the service and the food, my wife and I had a memory we will keep for the rest of our lives.
Our waitress not only represented the hotel well, but she promoted the local suppliers so well that we went out of our way to go to Charteris and spend more than anticipated on a few wines and change our route home to stop in at Kuri Kuri Bread Basket to pick up some Sour Dough bread to take home.
The room, the open fires and the amazing food and service will see us returning to this...
