Red Door Collective - RDC Vineyard Estate — Hotel in Pokolbin

Celebrated our anniversary with 2 nights at RDC - and we had an exceptional service experience and a relaxing time. Everything you need for a luxurious little Hunter getaway is on property.

LOCATION - You can see the mountains and sunrise/sunset from the property. Also - it’s 15 minutes from some of the best restaurants in Hunter (we wanted something close to Muse).

FOOD- Made fresh to order breakfast daily served at the main building, included with villa room rate and exclusive to guests staying at RDC. We had a big breakfast fry up on the first day with freshly made coffee and chai, and a chorizo omelette and French toast the second morning. Evelyn is the owner/chef/country Hostess extraordinaire and all the food she prepares is locally sourced, high quality produce. Everything from the cheese, to the honey has been tried, tested and selected. Food is lovingly prepared - and you can taste the difference. We also loved having the option to order an outstanding dinner delivered to the villa so that we didn’t have to worry about going anywhere or cooking for ourselves. She specialises in Thai and Malaysian food. Authentic green curry and panang curry packed a punch with just the right amount of heat! Our stay included a local cheese platter as well, and everything was on point.

WINE - single vineyard wines crafted by Stuart and Evelyn, who’ve got amazing taste. If it’s good enough for them, it’ll be good enough for the rest of us. Beautiful white wines, reds and dessert wine options as well. We really enjoyed the semi-private wine tasting experience, ended up buying a bunch of it home!

SERVICE - the experience here and getting to know our hosts was really special. Everything has been thoughtfully designed and prepared for us to feel pampered and relaxed. We arrived to a bottle of red and heart balloons all over the bed - super cute. Evelyn even lent me a pair of gum boots to go explore their large property. She also recommended a great call-out masseuse who came to the villa. Perfect for maximum relaxation!

There is nothing quite like this place - boutique vineyard with single vineyard wines + 3 guest villas on property with our hosts/property owners just up the hill whose two friendly dogs add to the farm/country vibes. All in all, an amazing experience. Looking forward to our...

We have stayed at Red Door Collective many times. This place is better than the 5-star hotel we've stayed at Hunter! Red door collective is simply the best Hunter get-away! The tranquility at RDC and it's beauty will keep us coming back. The hotels we have stayed at before, did not give the peace and that romance that RDC gave us! The RDC villa we stayed in was beautiful and clean. It's simply awesome when you are in your villa, just enjoying peace and the beauty of the vineyard. No other guests next door slamming doors, etc. like in hotels. RDC's location is so peaceful and very beautiful. It is quite magical waking up in a villa in the middle of a vineyard. It is a perfect get-away. Evelyn makes the best English breakfast! Evelyn also makes a truly delicious cheese platter. The bed is so comfy! The shower has perfect water pressure. The villa has organic shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The towels are soft and fluffy. Afternoon walk in the property is wonderful just before heading off to dinner. The owners are so caring and friendly. Stewart makes a great cup of coffee. Thank you Stewart and Evelyn for another lovely weekend...

Our recent stay at RDC was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment we arrived we were captivated by the surroundings and soothing ambiance of the vineyard.

The room itself was tastefully decorated, the bed super comfortable and although we didn’t get to use the fire pit out front, it’s the perfect touch for cooler evenings.

Evelyn and Stuart are the perfect hosts. We chewed their ears off about the vineyards, the Hunter Region itself over a lovely glass of their famous Red Velvet Cab Sav - absolutely Devine. Lots of cuddles as well to Mona the ridge back and jeronimo the cavoodle cross. If only Evie and Stuart would let you come with us😜

Our experience is nothing but exceptional. We highly recommend you coming to stay here. The breaky was just, yum. I had the French toast with bacon and fruits and hubbie had the breaky brioche.
