What a disappointment. My husband and I went for lunch at Akarra Gardens today. My husband ordered a steak burger, no onion and very little sauce. Looked nice when it came out until my husband cut it in half and the runny egg white on the egg and very runny yolk oozed all over his fingers. He tried to persevere and eat it until he bit the steack part and it was raw. YES RAW. I took his plate back and asked for his meal to be remade. Apparently as the women claimed it was written on the menue how the burger was cooked and I should have been more clearer how he wanted his burger cooked. Well if I knew the steak came raw and the egg half cooked, I would have asked. The women got very defensive and stated there wasn't much she could do about it and what did I want done. I told her to cook the dam steak then. Getting quite annoyed by her lack of customer care she took his plate and went to her kitchen. Now I neglected to take a photo of my husbands plate before I gave it to her. But I did photograph the bit of the raw steak that couldn't be eaten and of the burger when it came back out. When I showed her the uncooked steak on the napkin, she maintained that, that is how it gets cooked and the way the food is cooked is on the menu. Now that is twice she mentioned that. I tried to load a photo of the menu when I got home off the website but there was no menu to be loaded. Not even one in the photos which I found strange as folk normally do put photos of menus up for others to see. So we continue to eat. Poor hubby mainly now had chips. At $22 for a burger you'd expect an awesome burger. My dinner of an open grill chicken and avocado Turkish bread was fine. When we finished our meal we realised she had not delivered us our flat white coffees we had ordered. So up I went again to see the woman. When I told her she hadn't done our coffees It was a simple Oh I'm Sorry. Do you want your money in cash or back on your card. Hello!!!!!! You'd already stuffed up enough. You weren't going to stuff returning our money. So no we do not recommend this place for a meal, A previous review 3 weeks ago stated the tables we not cleared or wipped down. We can definitely collaborate with that review as the tables were not cleared straight away, infact the birds had a good feed from one lot of diners. She would have thought the folk enjoyed their meals as the plates were empty. Also she definitely did Not wipe any of the 3 tables where folk had eaten while we were there. Please if you want customers to return you need to think of your customers, don't tell lies about your menu and clean your attitude and act up. This review is to help other folk know that if your not happy with your food. Take it back before you take a bite as your on your own from then on. We enjoy dining out and helping small businesses but not given sub standard food. We are basic people and know what's right and what's wrong. Thankyou for reading. We hope this has helped...

I visited with two friends for lunch on Wednesday 17 February 2021. My vegetarian friend had a menu choice of falafel tortilla ..... or nothing. My husband chose (wisely) the fish and chips . Safe choice. Adequate.
I went for the Asian Duck Salad. Silly me! Unlike the anticipated bowl of interesting fresh herbs and salad/nicely cut raw veg tossed in a sexy dressing topped with bite size pieces of roast duck, i was served a large plate scantily covered in limp rocket and a few untoasted pine nuts with a generous glug of dressing. Plonked on this 'salad' was a small duck leg which, clearly, had been roasted ahead, refrigerated for some time and then zapped to revive. Sadly dry and stringy. More of a starter than a main meal.
However, my negative review is not generated by the duck. Had it not been for the water issue, i would most likely have put the saddo meal down to experience and become one of, possiby, a legion of customers who never return.
When I asked for tap water for three, i was declined. Not possible due to Covid. Drinks must be in single use containers. Washing glasses causes risk of contagion, i was told. OK, i accepted this despite silently wondering why the same cannot be said of the food plates and cutlery.
So i asked for bottled water. None available. Out of stock. Pellegrino, which is carbonated, or nothing. Unless i would like to choose from the usual high sugar suspects which, apart from flavoured iced teas were also carbonated. Think - beers, Bundaberg ginger beers and other softies.
That is all i...
Read moreDO NOT have your wedding here. My fiancé and I were meant to get married here in July, and due to the owners absolute lack of communication and planning we had to cancel our wedding. We made repeated attempts to contact her regarding the organisation of our wedding, only to be ignored for weeks if not months. She told us all the right things to our face but never actually did anything, and never followed through after face to face meetings. We gave her the benefit of the doubt, on multiple occasions. She continued to reassure us that things were on track, when in reality it wasn’t. Absolute lack of transparency when it comes to pricing. Never gave us a contract. She spoke badly about other vendors, which is a joke since she had been the only unreliable vendor. She refused to allow us the freedom to pick certain vendors, all while saying she would do everything (decorating etc), but then never did anything. She has no idea what she is doing and absolutely deserves to be called out since she has ruined our wedding! The worst part, when we had finally had enough and cancelled, we got NO apology. She basically ruined our wedding and our experience of planning for our day, and she didn’t even care. The only thing she did right was give us our deposit back. The fact that she did it so freely also just confirmed she never wanted to do our wedding nor had she done...
