Daintree Village Hotel — Restaurant in Queensland

Was unsure about going here for dinner due to a couple of negative reviews, but so glad we decided to give it a go. Staff were so lovely, prices very reasonable, service was very prompt and efficient, and the food was excellent! We were so impressed we went back again the next night. On the first night I had the rib filet. I’m always a bit wary of steak as so many places seem to be unable to cook it properly, but I was delighted to find it cooked to perfection - I don’t think I’ve had better anywhere. My wife had the ribs also delicious and both servings very generous. On the second night my wife had the calamari, once again, not something that is always done right, but was beautiful and tender, I had the chicken parmigiana and it was not only delicious, but a massive serving! Called in for a nice refreshing beverage after a day in the sun. The bar staff were awesome and super friendly/chatty, really nice welcome. They had a good selection of beers and reasonably priced, local and imported beers by the bottle and some on tap. My partner was thrilled to see prosecco in the fridge 😄!

We ordered some chips and decided to try the sauces (from a previous review saying they were good) he wasn't wrong, they were really good. The creamy peppercorn and carbonara went well with the chips!

When we come to leave I peered into the freezer for an ice-cream, but were sold out. Skye (manager on duty) saw i was gutted there were no ice-cream, so she rushed into the back and brought out some home made brownies, I was absolutely made up. Thank you for some good yarns/hospitality, good beers and all round great evening!

Fantastic place...

Food was quite good here. However we are talking about $37 for a Chicken Parma, which was large and quite thick. Cooked well and tasted like any other I've had, but i dont think it's special. Definitely one of the more expensive meals on their menu. The pasta of the day was mushroom, and quite good, also quite large for $25. Chicken nuggets and chips $15.

If you are in a rush, i wouldn't recommend this place. We ordered at 12:25 and got our food 50 minutes later for 3 meals. We saw plenty of people who ordered before us come up to the counter and ask about their meals. If you have time, buy a few drinks, chit chat with family and friends, then sure.
