I love Ellis Beach Bar & Grill and the amazing team there… HOWEVER if there is one thing we don’t like after their renovations is how crazy the chairs & tables situation is. It’s SOOOO packed outside (see photos) - the tables and chairs are too close together. When it’s medium busy and you try to get to your table you’re hitting other people’s chairs or bumping in to them. It’s just way too crowded now and thus makes the dining experience far less enjoyable. There’s less walking room as you go past tables. I’m constantly getting bums in my face. We much preferred the more spacious layout that has been there for the many years prior. The main the issue is squeezing too many people in to a space. People’s comfort should be a primary consideration - and being jammed in is not a fun experience. Hopefully the new owners might ponder the above issue. It could be easily fixed with the removal of maybe 25% of tables. Just please space it out better. Thanks. šŸ™ Also - ordering everything at the Bar also gets crowded. It was nice when you could order food and drinks separately. But don’t think this can be changed with the new layout. People slowly deciding what food to order delays ordering of drinks when people know what they want. Should seperate it again like it was before. But otherwise please keep up the great work in the Kitchen & Bar. We appreciate all the hard work of the Team šŸ‘

Wowweeee where to start šŸ˜„held my daughters wedding here on Monday 21/3/22 and it was absolutely perfectā¤ļø As advertised it was the ultimate tropical beach wedding topped off with reception at the Bar & Grill seriously was 100% . Cannot say thank you enough to Jordan and Josh behind the bar and venue managers both on Sunday on arrival until we left Tuesday morning, seriously A1 service, and super friendly and super helpful nothing was a problem. Also personally thanked on all meal occasions the chefs woweeeee the food was absolutely deliciousšŸ‘ Whether it was Tea, or breakfast the food was delicious. The wedding menu roast Cauvery buffet and the vegetarian meals to cater for all was absolutely exceptional. The food platters served later on were fantastic also. I seriously cannot speak highly enough of this venue and the staff and I will also mention Jess who helped my daughter from the start with wedding planning, who went out of their way to engage and communicate and we all simply loved them and the place. I am from Melbourne and will spread the word to all that Ellis Beach Bar & Grill is a must when we all come to Cairns that’s for sure. Thank you thank you thank you for making our wedding THE BEST x Jenny

28/12/21 Ellis Beach Bar & Grill is situated right between Cairns & Port Douglas. Delicious freshly prepared meals, snacks and ice creams available all day in a casual beachy atmosphere with friendly, efficient service. The beer battered barramundi and sweet potato chips are a standout. Multi leveled layout includes a large stage area and seating for events. Amazing huge fig trees and vines shade over recycled pallet chairs and tables with water views, or sit on the charming long veranda. Licensed venue with a large variety of chilled drinks and coffee. Clean rest rooms and parking available. Bookings are unnecessary if not a large group. This beautiful picturesque setting on the roadside between beach and rainforest is a 'must-stop' on the winding far north Captain Cook Highway, Queensland Australia. Family friendly and dog friendly. Croc nets are also in place for a quick swim. High humidity in the monsoon season (Dec-Feb) so be prepared you may get delightfully wet. Enjoy the stunning natural environment and ensure to respect the coastal regions and marine life by taking any litter with you when you leave. Cheers! 😊 🌓🐠🌓🌺

On Tuesday 2nd April, we decided to pop in for a few drinks. The place looks amazing with its renovations. We saw a couple of meals come out which were tacos. They looked amazing. So, we ordered a plate of tacos to share. We were so happy to sit there and have a few drinks and something to eat. Well, the nachos arrived so disappointed with it, they were burn't and not edible! I spoke to the lovely young Italian lady there, and she got the manager to come over to talk to us. It was a guy with curly hair. His attitude was so disgraceful. He grabbed the plate as if he were snatching it from us. I thought oh that was very rude!" He said he would bring us our money back. The rudeness didn't stop there. He walked off chatting to a team member, and we felt he was chatting about us with this female! Whom looked embarrassed as we were watching.

On Sunday afternoon, we popped in again to have a few drinks and enjoy the live band and music. We decided to order a pizza to share as somebody walked past us with one. It looked so delicious. The pizza wasn't delicious at all. It was far from acceptable it was bland, just full of melted cheese with very few toppings on it. It had two pieces of chicken and a couple of pieces of red onion, another disappointing meal. Also, to top it off, my husband was crook for a couple of hours during the night. I believe the venue is amazing, I love the music and staff on weekends. The cocktails are amazing. The guy behind the bar making the cocktails reminds me of Tom Cruise in the movie 'Cocktail'. It is vital to your business regarding the licensing conditions that you supply quality food that people can enjoy while...

Horrific service, and arrogant dismissive management. Dined today. Ordered a pizza, another meal and took a seat. 5 minutes later staff member came to table to inform no pizzas left. Was informed to choose another meal and specifically told that if the replacement meal was more expensive, it would be at no cost to us. 5 minutes later the staff member came back to inform me that we would have to pay the balance as she was not actually in a position to have made that arrangement and management would not honor her offer. The option she gave me was to cancel the order and not have anything.

I approached the manager on duty who said he would not honor the agreement his staff had made and that she shouldn't have made the arrangement in the first place. Explaining to him that once that deal had been made and food had been ordered I feel the business had an obligation to uphold the agreed upon pricing.

I was dismissed, told there was nothing that would be done and to pay the extra or cancel the order..

If I were Tom, the new owner, I would be furious at the way my investment was being run.

If nothing else the embarrassment of trying to get what I believe was the fair and correct outcome, to simply be made out to be trying to take advantage of an offer that your staff made, is enough that I will never visit...
