Emu Park Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Queensland

Me and my partner went to this shop today, just after some fish n chips nice and simple.

When we walked in we were looking at the menu and the young guy that was on the counter looking at us looked like he was annoyed that we walked in saying. hey, what do you want (without a smile and leaning on the counter)

I personally didn’t feel welcome and ignored him while looking at the counter with my partner, a minute goes past and the lady that was sitting down behind him gets up with a smile to supervise him, feeling more welcoming.

The lady had to ask what salt we wanted because as we told the boy what we wanted, he was looking down at the till typing the order in not saying a word, not even a “anything else”, or a card or cash / how much the price was”

We ordered a large chips with gravy, 2 barramundi pieces, 3 scallops and 5 fish bites.

Assuming that sounds like a fair meal to feed me my partner and her dad, we waited 5 minutes and it was ready for us.

We were sitting outside on the table and the lady come and gave us our food, again with a smile and telling us to have a good rest of our day. Best experience we had was her customer service.

FOOD ^^^^^^^ Now for the food it cost $47, ridiculous price, $12 for a large chips that we open up to being cold 1 minute into getting them, is crazy beyond thinking, and it looked like a handful, not even a good size for the price and a supposedly large.

The fish was also cold, and the fish bites, probably only decent thing was the scallops which were just on the verge of being cold.

Anyways, wouldn’t recommend, especially for the price, would’ve rather gone to...

I just don't see the connection between your 4+ star reviews and what we were served last night (which was the worst attempt at fish and potato scallops in our lives)

We ordered grilled fish and a potato scallop. Nice and simple.

We received an uncooked potato scallop and an uncooked fish fillet. In addition to that after one bite of the scallop we felt a residual layer of 'something' on our lips.

How often do you change your cooking oil/lard??

After I let you know about this, you did try and rectify by cooking a new order of crumbed mackerel with more potato scallops.

Well. The mackerel was literally like leather! Unreal. So overcooked and one of the potato scallops was so darn thin it was literally just batter.

I just don't understand. This is what you do! You run a fish n chip shop.. ????

Perhaps it's time you rethink how you prepare, cook and prep your cooking medium and food products.

Been here several times first time fish mackeral was good " for yeppoon area standards" not completely tasteless" small amount of chips half to dry and empty in side" paid more than i thought i should have no receipt or till showed what we ordered tried a second time yep fish tasteless clearly frozen chips the same half inedible" again over charged so i added it up on my phone they short changed me , told the boy he gave me a few $$ back still wasn't the correct amount told the other worker they gave me a few $$$ more back " not sure if its a deliberate scam to overcharge people??? or a till issue"?? the customers in front of us also had the same overcharging...
