A Gem Revived in Esk!

The recent change in ownership at our local bakery has truly been a breath of fresh air for the community. The new team has done an above-outstanding job of not only revitalizing the bakery but also bringing a whole new energy to Esk.

The range on offer is simply incredible—something we haven’t been used to here. From fresh, beautifully crafted pastries and bread to innovative and mouthwatering treats, there’s something for everyone. Their commitment to quality and variety is evident in every bite, and it’s clear that they’re passionate about what they do.

It’s heartwarming to see the bakery bustling with happy customers, both locals and visitors. The new owners have created a space that’s welcoming and vibrant, breathing life back into the area and giving people yet another reason to stop by Esk.

If you haven’t visited yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Support this fantastic local business—you won’t be...

This morning we went to the bakery to get a mushroom pie. I couldn't get a mushroom pie as they didn't have one & this was not near lunchtime. I don't like curries ect, so I got stuck with a sausage roll. Knowing this won't fill me," I asked how much for a hamburger"? $10.20 she answered. More than I wanted to spend, I saw mini dim sims, again I asked " how much for a mini dim sim" ? $2.20 she replied, I replied, " what each" yeah she replied. Completely In shock, I said something like " holly sh-t, you can buy a bag of 30 for $12". My wife had a cream doughnut. For a sausage roll & cream doughnut cost $11 something. My problem is, no-one begrudges paying a profit to someone cooking for you. The problem is, when they play you for a mug & try to sell you a mini dim sim for $2.20ea, that is pure greed & you will not have my business. Also the itemised boards on the walls had no prices on...

One star is too much for obnoxious, rude older woman at his unfriendly place. If she wasn’t yelling at us she ignored us. There are no prices listed and when we asked she was clearly annoyed. We ordered a burger and chips which took a very long time to come out and when it did it was the most grossly made burger, buns not toasted and everything slapped together so badly we didn’t even touch it but threw it in the bin suspecting she probably spat in it out the back out of sight where it was made. It seems that if you’re a local you get treated somewhat nicely but as a happy, polite family traveling through, the customer service is horrendous. The treatment we were served was very upsetting for us and our children. Not a great experience at all. The worst spent $46 on our trip so far, it’s poor service like this that travelers don’t stop to spend money in small towns, I know we will be very...

Oh. My. God. Called in whilst travelling through town and grabbed a sausage roll for breakfast (don’t judge me) a pre made chicken salad roll, the same with ham for lunch later and then some treats for the road. Well after devouring the freshest and tastiest sausage roll I’ve had in ages I thought I might have a bite of the caramel tart whilst I waited for my partner. Not even sorry that he didn’t get a chance to taste it, OR that I hightailed it back there to get 2 more and extras. The salad rolls were still good to eat 4 hours later (in the travel fridge) and I’m finishing off the sweet treats now 9 hours later and they are still amazing. Do yourselves a favour if in the area. Photo supplied was to tease the daughter at home.

Good old fashioned bakery! 09/12/2024 The atmosphere was very much a country style meetup spot, that the locals flock to for a chinwag and a bite! We had the Beef, Cheese & Bacon pie which was big and homemade! It had great flavour and I would definitely recommend the Esk Bakery & Cafe!

Friendly staff, good bread and surprisingly one of the best pies we have had. Even better than the fernvale bakery (in our view) who blatantly advertise that they have the best pies in Australia! Pies were pepper steak and I’d be keen to try others when we next visit.
