Golden Harvest Bakery — Restaurant in Queensland

Dropped in early this morning with steak bacon cheese pie on my mind but that plan changed when i saw a hot chilli pie. I took the pie 5 minutes up the road to Laidley Golf Club and was instantly impressed with the flavour of the filling. Not overly spicy but the flavour was there. The pastry had good integrity and was soft and buttery. Not a nassive pie but enough for me. A tradie or truckie might go for 2. Stopped into the clubhouse after 12 holes to top up my esky and noticed the golf club had the same pies in there warmer. They only had plain beef but i thought id give it a go. It was equally as delicious. No sauce needed. After the 18th hole i spotted a sausage roll in the warmer that looked like it had the same pastry on it. I really am not a lover of sausage rolls because I've had too many that are dry with hard dry pastry. This was the opposite, soft tasty tender sausage filling and nice flavours with delicious pastry. Having just moved into the area, I wanted to find a bakery that made bread with all the love that it deserves...and I found it at Golden Harvest Bakery! Their bread is made the old fashioned way - mixed fresh every day without additives and preservatives, and NOT pre-prepared bread mixes! Just how they should be made. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Such a beautiful selection of desserts and pies. We got the Curry pie, mince pie with mushy peas, 3 x Sesame Street character cupcakes, large apple turnover and a couple of drinks.
