One star is for being open Monday night. Despite refurb couple of years ago, meals here have steadily declined over past few months, but prices considerably increased with new menu. Word is getting around the locals, so support there is waning. Such a shame to see potential disappear. Meals last night dreadful: I ordered quiche with salad & chips, which arrived with vegie stack instead of quiche. Opted to eat rather than wait for replacemt, but didnt eat all as thicker part luke warm. Obviously not nuked enough & a serious food safety issue... salad uninspiring unripe tomato, cucumber & premix lettuce. Chips good. Husbands beef roast - meat tough and dried out - also left unfinished. We wld often eat here Monday night after busy weekend. Wont bother again. Will make effort to drive closer into Twmba (avoiding Cabarlah Tavern, which is equally consistently poor).

Crows Nest caravan park does great meals weekends, with coffee & cake during week. Unfortunately nothing else in town during week excluding the greasy...

The bar staff are great & brought the service up however the 2 ladies who take orders for meals (young brunette & older blonde) seem friendly but any questions are met with awkward laughter or defensiveness I.e. Simply asking if take away were an option. Another time I had the fried crab which was awful (please take it off the menu). When taking it back after having a bite and my husband also trying they simply said a reluctant sorry and just kept staring over at us which made us feel uncomfortable for the rest of our time there. Also might not be appropriate having a table seated right up against the children’s area for dinner. Kids run in and out slamming the door, turning the lights off on and on just being kids but doesn’t make for an enjoyable experience when dinner out is meant to be an...

Really comfortable accommodation - clean and well presented. The kitchen - dining- living room were great. Shared bathrooms were clean and functional.|Good value. We were surprised that it was relatively quiet for being above the pub and had a lovely view of the "village green" across the road.|The staff member that tried to check us in initially got himself a bit muddled up saying that we "didn't have a booking under that name" and that there were "no family rooms that slept four"... which gave us a bit of a heart attack... but thankfully it was all cleared up with another staff member!|If you're wanting to dine at the pub, make sure you book a table in advance if you go on a busy weekend - we were very lucky to be able to share with another...

A bit of a let down... again. We ordered pizza and children's cheese burger and chips. For starters... the attitude of the lady who served us was shocking and she shouldn't be in hospitality. Even to the point of rolling her eyes when we ordered a child's plate. We're paying for it- we should be able to order what we like. We asked for the pizza to be in a take away container and she replied 'don't have any'... no smile, nothing. The cheese burger and chips was great and the pizza tasteful- just very small for the price (the meat you see in comparison is a type of kabana- still nice flavour though) In the end, a few beers and take away as well- over $85 spent and I don't think we'll go back. Just the service was off putting

If you want to have a great meal, don’t go past the Grand Old Crow Hotel at Crows Nest. 48 people descended onto the premises today ( pre booked) and everything was organised to a Tee. The room had been warm with lovely heating to make it cosy, as it was a freezing cold day. Once our orders were taken Chef went into action as no one ordered the same meals, it was across the board with Seniors Meals, Special of the Day and from the extensive menu. The meals were delicious and very generous, there was no skipping with portions. Staff were very courteous, polite, helpful and efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending the Grand Old Crow Hotel. Thank you to all the staff plus Chef, you did a great job.

What a pleasant surprise. We dropped in for a beer while on our walk and ended up staying for dinner more beers and wine. The main bar is set up really well allows you to sit at a table but be next to the bar. Bar staff are incredible. They pour beers old style correctly with a decent head. I got stuck into the reds and I’m a snobby red drinker but I wanted to stay for another. Then out came out meals. Delicious. I had the pasta prawns cream garlic mix. Hubs had roast turkey. Both were of a high standard. I would recommend this pub for drinks and food. I look forward to returning in the winter to sit in front of the wood fire eating wood fire cooked pizzas.
