Harrup Park — Restaurant in Queensland

They asked for my id, then she scanned it without asking , when asked why I was told it was to ensure I didn't cause trouble, when I asked how long they will keep it for , she said I don't know. I didn't see nor was I directed to a privacy statement. The menu was very comprehensive. I had the duck spring rolls and lettuce. They were delicious but for over $20 I think it was a bit expensive. The main was a crumb steak chips and veg. It was nice, tasty and good size for $20 . I felt very sorry for the lovely wait staff as they were not trained , this is not their issue just like the front counter staff , it's that they have very very poor management that is more dollar focused than staff and customer focused. Other people in the group had desert and they all said that they were delicious. They did have a long wait , but it was busy so expected. There is a kids club but when you make a bistro booking you are not told that there is a waiting time or time limit on use in busy times, if that was done, expectations would have been managed. Would I recommend or return out of choice, the answer is definitely NO!!!!. There are far nicer places in Mackay to visit who provide excellent food and care about their staff...

Had the special (Pork cutlet) and was extremely disappointed. Pork was not a cutlet but a normal Pork chop, which was very thin and extremely overcooked. Partnered with 3 potatoes and almost half a plate full of broccoli and cauliflower. Way too much, outnumbered the chop 10 to 1!!! No flavour and the sauce? What sauce, a drizzle of Jus...Had this exact same dish last Friday and the difference is night and day. Last week's was fantastic, the cutlet had a huge bone and was thick and cooked perfectly. The right amount of vegetables to meat. Plenty of Jus..This week's was a disaster. Did not finish the meal by a long shot and told the server how bad it was. He did apologise and said he would let the chef know, which I hope he did. My partners meal was also disappointing, obviously these meals were rushed out as it took no time to get them to us, but clearly they were not made well. The money spent was not worth our time. Whilst visiting Mackay and recommendation to go for lunch today, I am forced to report the most disappointing meal I have had in a long time. I was at a table of 11 and we all ordered together. 5 of our friends received their meal and 1/2 hour later we still had not received ours. I approached staff and was rudely told it would be another 10 minutes. When the meals finally arrived, my husbands order was wrong. I ordered rump n rib with garden salad, medium rare! Received rump without rib and a Caesar salad. I asked for the ribs these were provided, however they were cold and the steak was well done. I ordered homemade schnitzel and when served the chips were cold. I complained and was given a large bowl of overcooked chips. The schnitzel was dry and overcooked.
